20090022576IMPELLER DRIVE FOR A WATER JET PROPULSION UNIT - A water propulsion unit having an intake housing, a pump housing and an outlet with two spaced apart counter rotating impellers being located in the pump housing. The impeller blades on one impeller have an opposite pitch to the blades of the second impeller. The impellers are configured so that one of the impellers will impart less energy to the water as it passes the blades of the impeller than the second impeller.01-22-2009

20080282781Monitoring Particles in a Fluid Stream - There is described an apparatus for monitoring particles in a fluid stream, comprising a body portion and a detector element that is acoustically decoupled from the body portion. The detector element comprises a target surface, a sample acoustic sensor and a corrosion sensor. The sample acoustic sensor is acoustically coupled to the target surface and is arranged to provide a first signal, which varies in dependence upon acoustic noise generated by impacts of particles and fluid on the target surface. The corrosion sensor is arranged to provide a second signal, which varies in dependence upon corrosion and/or erosion of the target surface. A corresponding method of monitoring particles in a fluid stream is also described. The method and apparatus are suitable for monitoring sand in oil and gas production flow streams.11-20-2008
20100326654MONITORING DOWNHOLE PRODUCTION FLOW IN AN OIL OR GAS WELL - An apparatus monitors a production flow from a gravel pack into a tubular sand screen disposed concentrically around downhole production tubing in an oil or gas well. A tubular sample layer is disposed concentrically around the sand screen to be exposed to the radial production flow in use. The sample layer is electrically insulated from the production tubing in use. An erosion sensor provides a signal which varies in dependence upon an electrical resistance of the sample layer, which is related to the erosion of the sample layer. An apparatus also monitors a substantially longitudinal production flow through downhole production tubing in an oil or gas well. A method and apparatus are used to monitor the condition of a gravel pack within an oil or gas well. Other methods monitor temperature or pressure conditions within an oil or gas well.12-30-2010

20100320100COMBINED CANDY CONTAINER AND CARD HOLDER - The device includes a plastic body in two hinged halves or portions and a tray. When the device is closed, the tray is held between the two portions. A candy-chamber (for holding several small candies) is defined between the tray and the candy-portion, and a card-pocket (for holding one business-card) is defined between the tray and the card-portion. When the candies are all gone, the body is opened and the tray is removed, whereupon the candy-chamber and the card-pocket are aggregated into a single large storage container.12-23-2010

20100278100EXTENDED RANGE VOICE OVER IP WIMAX DEVICE - A method implemented in a mobile station (“MS”). When the MS transmits, it generates radio frequency (“RF”) energy. To limit exposure to RF energy, regulatory agencies determined a maximum transmit power for mobile stations. The amount of RF energy considered safe is that generated when the MS is transmitting continuously at the maximum transmit power for a predetermined period. The method first determines whether the maximum transmit power is too low to effect communication between the MS and a base station. If it is, the transmit power is increased and if possible, the data transmit rate of outbound data is reduced to at or below a data rate threshold that reduces the RF energy generated by the mobile station to an amount considered safe. Then, any data having a data transmit rate less than or equal to the data rate threshold is transmitted at the increased transmit power.11-04-2010
