| 20100265121 | Short Distance Range Resolution in Pulsed Radar - Pulsed radar detects the presence and range of very short-range objects via small perturbations in phase and/or amplitude of relatively long duration coherently related transmit pulses. In one embodiment, echoes forming a received signal waveform from a sampling baseband radar receiver are processed at audio frequency to look for perturbations of the phase of the time-stretched received radar signal while the radar is still transmitting a long-duration pulse. In a second embodiment, the time-stretched received signal is processed to look for perturbations in the amplitude of the received radar signal. Small amplitude perturbations due to constructive and destructive interference of the transmitted and reflected signals occur in the receiver when objects are very close to the radar if the receiver is not heavily saturated. These same techniques can also be used to achieve highly accurate ranging of long-distance objects and detection of overlapping echoes from multiple objects. | 10-21-2010 |

| 20090322616 | Radar echolocater with audio output - The echolocater device described herein incorporates the features of integrated sampling radar technology to create a unique device that provides, for example, the visually impaired with an excellent new tool to help navigate the world. Much like a bat using its bio-sonar, the visually impaired will be able to hear subtle differences in audio-replicated radar echoes. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, two integrated-sampling type radar receivers are spaced some convenient distance apart. A single transmitter centered between two receivers transmits pulses of an RF carrier. Audio “IF” output from each receiver is processed and sent to a small speaker worn near each ear. With practice the user of this invention will be able to discern the range, location and motion of individual objects, and may also be able to distinguish particular echo characteristics of differing objects. | 12-31-2009 |

| 20090157843 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING DIGITAL ASSETS - The claimed invention enables digital asset management that is responsive to a user's interactions with digital assets. Based on the user's interaction, the invention generates a ranking of the digital assets that is intended to reflect the value of the digital assets to the user. The ranking is based in part on the access frequency and recency, and the number and types of uses of the digital assets. An access hierarchy is derived from the ranking that stores the digital assets so that the higher ranked digital assets are more easily accessed than the lower ranked digital assets. The digital assets can include any of digital images, audio files, and Uniform Resource Locators. The invention can also distinguish between different types of uses so that some types of uses imbue an asset with greater value than others. The types of uses include passive viewing or playback, file sharing, transport, and editing. The invention also allows the user to assign subjective values to each digital asset that can be factored into the ranking independently of usage patterns. A volatility-dampening attribute is provided to moderate volatility in the access hierarchy. | 06-18-2009 |
| 20100228719 | PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR INCORPORATING AUDIT TRAIL INFORMATION OF A MEDIA ASSET INTO THE ASSET ITSELF - An enhanced metadata structure and associated process is provided which captures and stores metadata gathered about the source and usage of a media asset or file. The source and usage metadata is integrated, such as by encoding within the enhanced media file, as the media asset is transferred and used. The integrated metadata accumulates, as a trail of source information and usage information in the enhanced media asset, and can be extracted upon arrival at a target computer system. | 09-09-2010 |
