20080242325 | JUST-IN-TIME TRAINING OF DEPLOYED SKILL SUPPORT PERSONNEL VIA CELL PHONE MULTIMEDIA - A content delivery system, such as a Just in Time Training (JITT) system which allows the broadcast of multimedia messages to recipients or users. The JITT system identifies the multimedia capabilities as well as the capabilities of the service provider and recipient device for each user and uses this profile information to determine an appropriate messaging format to use to send the message to each user. User involvement is used to determine the functionality and content type delivery for each user mobile device. This profiling may be performed in any of a number of different ways, including smart echo, caller-ID initiated (CIDI) and SMS initiated (SMSI) profiling. In smart echo profiling, the user sends the JITT system a multimedia sample from the mobile device, and the JITT system then sends messages and content to the mobile devise using the same format. In CIDI profiling, the JITT system sends test messages in different formats to the phone number of the device, and the user replies to the message having the best audiovisual experience. The system then uses the format associated with the reply message for further communications with the user. SMSI profiling is similar to CIDI profiling, except that the user sends an SMS instead of making a call. Users with multimedia recording devices, such as camera phones, can also upload multimedia through this system for subsequent broadcast. Users with data recording devices, such as toxic gas sensors, can also upload data through this system for subsequent conversion to multimedia and broadcast. | 10-02-2008 |

20090043751 | GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE FOR DATA MANAGEMENT - The exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing data. A user interface is generated. A user makes a selection at the user interface of at least one data type of a set of data types to be measured for relevancy. The set of data types comprise an age of data, modification of data, and access of data. The user also selects, at the user interface a granularity of the at least one data type to be measured. Data is collected from multiple sources. The collected data is analyzed to determine a relevance for the data type selected by the user based on the granularity selected by the user, which forms a result. The result is displayed to the user, by the user interface. The result includes a visual representation of the relevance of the data type selected by the user based on the granularity selected by the user. | 02-12-2009 |
20090044107 | DATA MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES - The exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing data. A graphical user interface is generated. The graphical user interface comprises a first selecting component for receiving a selection from a user of at least one attribute of a record from a set of records to be measured for relevancy, a second selecting component for receiving a selection from the user for a granularity of the at least one attribute to be measured for relevancy, and a displaying component for displaying a result to the user, wherein the result includes a visual representation of the relevancy of the at least one attribute selected by the user based on the granularity selected by the user. | 02-12-2009 |
20100022216 | Ambient Information for Usage of Wireless Communication Devices - Embodiments that indicate usage information of services for wireless communication devices via ambient elements are disclosed. Some embodiments determine usage of a service for a wireless communication device and manipulate one or more ambient elements to indicate the usage to a user of the device. Various embodiments may determine usage by measuring a quantity of data transferred or measuring a number of voice minutes consumed according to a rate plan. Changing ambient elements may comprise activating vibration modules or changing colors of screen elements, or changing screen brightness of the devices, as examples. Examples of wireless communication devices are cell phones, smartphones, satellite phones, and other types of mobile communication devices that use wireless communication services. | 01-28-2010 |
