20080252210Electrode Patterning - A method is provided to isolated conductive pads on top of a multi-layer polymer device structure. The method utilizes laser radiation to ablate conductive material and create a non-conductive path, electrically isolating the conductive pads. The process is self-limiting and incorporates at least one layer within the stack that absorbs the radiation at the required wavelength. The prevention of radiation degradation of the underlying layers is achieved, as absorption of radiation occurs primarily on the surface of the structure, but not in any of the radiation sensitive underlying layers of the electronic device. The method preferably uses low energy infrared radiation which has been shown to produce little debris and no device degradation.10-16-2008

20080283275Metal Deposition - A method for electroless plating of metal on a laser-patterned substrate. A substrate is provided on which both a thermal imaging layer and catalytic layer are deposited. On exposure to a laser beam, sufficient levels of radiation are converted to heat in the thermal imaging layer to render the exposed regions of the adjacent catalytic layer inactive. The laser-patterned substrate is then exposed to a reaction solution which initiates the growth of a metal film on the unexposed regions of the catalytic layer.11-20-2008

20120030953POWER TOOL - A power tool includes a handle including a support portion movably supportable on a housing portion and extending substantially about the circumference of the housing portion. The support portion may include a second end movable relative to a first end such that the support portion selectively applies a force to the housing portion. The tool may include a bevel angle detent mechanism in which one of the detent member and the recess is angularly adjustable relative to the associated one of the detent support and the recess support to adjust the predetermined bevel angle position. A bevel angle detent mechanism may include an engagement operating assembly operable between a detent engagement-enabled condition, in which the detent member is engageable in the recess, and a detent engagement-prevention condition, in which the detent member is prevented from engaging the recess. The tool may include a spindle lock assembly.02-09-2012

20110314706ATHLETIC SHOE SOLE COATING FOR TRACTION ENHANCEMENT - An athletic shoe coating for traction enhancement includes a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) and a tackyfying resin and a film former initially in solution within a solvent suitable for application to the surface of a shoe sole in liquid form, such as by spraying, rolling and brushing the solution onto the shoe sole. After the solvent evaporates a film or coating attaches or is bonded to the shoe sole that exhibits the property of dynamically modifying the traction properties of the shoe sole when pressure and shear forces are applied to the coating. Such modification causes the exterior surface of the film or coating to “refresh” the exposed surface upon impact. This imparts continued tackiness over extended use. Impact modifiers may be added for controlled release of a solvent to temporarily dissolve or soften the film or coating to promote such refreshment of the coating outer surface.12-29-2011

20120011749DEVICE ATTACHABLE TO ITEM OF CLOTHING FOR DISPENSING MATERIAL FOR ENHANCING GRIPPING PROPERTIES OF SHOE SOLE - A wiping device may be a friable layer or an absorbent pad made of a material that can absorb and retain a fluid composition and can be attached or is attached to an item of clothing, such as a sock, shoe, compression sleeve, etc. The device is impregnated with an adhesive-type tacky substance that is released when a shoe sole is wiped against it to clean the shoe sole and allow surface dust and debris to be removed from the shoe sole. The deposited substance also forms a film or coating that remains adhered to the surface of the shoe sole to improve traction by imparting tackiness to the shoe sole.01-19-2012
