20090129011Liquid cooled module - A thermal module is provided for absorbing and dissipating heat from a heat generating component. The module comprises a module body, input and output ports, and a channel disposed within the module body. The module body includes a thermally conductive base, a top surface, and a side surface rising from the base toward the top surface. The base is disposable adjacent the heat generating component to facilitate transfer of heat from the heat generating component to the base. The input and output ports are each disposed on the side surface of the body. The channel is encapsulated within the module body and extends from the input port to the output port to define a flow path. The channel is operative to convey a cooling fluid therethrough for absorbing and dissipating the heat from the heat generating component.05-21-2009
20090130005Sanitary wrap - A sanitary article is provided for reducing the spread of contamination between a user and an object. The article comprises a permeable layer, an impermeable layer, and an anti-bacterial gel interposed between the permeable layer and the impermeable layer. The permeable and impermeable layers may be sealed to each other to restrict the movement of the gel and to make the article unitary. The gel may at least partially diffuse through the permeable layer upon the user contacting the permeable layer while the impermeable layer impeded diffusion of the gel toward the object upon the object contacting the impermeable layer.05-21-2009
20090236852Flow generator for use in connection with a utility conduit - There is provided a power generation and distribution system for use in combination with a utility conduit having fluid passing therethrough. The power generation and distribution system includes a rotation element disposable within the utility conduit. The rotation element rotates in response to fluid passing within the utility conduit. A power generator is in mechanical communication with the rotation element, and generates power in response to rotation of the rotation element. This system also includes a power distributor in electrical communication with the power generator and electrically connectable to a power outlet to distribute power thereto.09-24-2009

20080294981Page clipping tool for digital publications - Systems, methods, graphical user interface and other implementations are disclosed for capturing, saving, managing, and processing a plurality of sections of content of interest (e.g. page clippings) of a page or a plurality of pages from one or more digital publications based on the semantics of the content selected and or descriptive metadata attributes associated with the content selected and or semantically-rich description of information selected and or a combination thereof. The invention also consisting of user interface elements (e.g. publication components) that incorporate one or more tools (e.g. applications) that let the user perform specific tasks on the stored page clippings.11-27-2008
20080320386Methods for optimizing the layout and printing of pages of Digital publications. - Systems, methods, graphical user interface elements and other implementations are described for optimizing the layout and printing of pages of digital publications to improve legibility of key content while preserving the layout (e.g. without materially altering the position and size of the bounding boxes of content elements featured on the pages) of the printed format (e.g. print version of the publication on which the digital publication is based) hereby ensuring that the advertising space and or space reserved for images and graphics, among others, defined in the printed version remain unchanged. The invention also consisting of methods for printing the resulting, reformatted digital publication.12-25-2008

20080213161Carbon nanotube pastes and methods of use - Discernable pastes comprising single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) in water or in an organic solvent are prepared. The method of preparing the Discernable pastes comprises in general the following steps: a) removal of the catalyst used during the synthesis of SWNT; b) while the SWNT are still wet, addition of the appropriate amount of solvent, in a solvent/SWNT ratio which preferably varies between 30:1 and 100:1, depending on the desired viscosity of the paste; and c) high-energy horn sonication with a dismembrator probe.09-04-2008
20100240529SINGLE-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBE-CERAMIC COMPOSITES AND METHODS OF USE - Composites of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and a ceramic support (e.g., silica) comprising a small amount of catalytic metal, e.g., cobalt and molybdenum, are described. The particle comprising the metal and ceramic support is used as the catalyst for the production of the single-walled carbon nanotubes. The nanotube-ceramic composite thus produced can be used “as prepared” without further purification providing significant cost advantages. The nanotube-ceramic composite has also been shown to have improved properties versus those of purified carbon nanotubes in certain applications such as field emission devices. Use of precipitated and fumed silicas has resulted in nanotube-ceramic composites which may synergistically improve the properties of both the ceramic (e.g., silica) and the single-walled carbon nanotubes. Addition of these composites to polymers may improve their properties. These properties include thermal conductivity, thermal stability (tolerance to degradation), electrical conductivity, modification of crystallization kinetics, strength, elasticity modulus, fracture toughness, and other mechanical properties. Other nanotube-ceramic composites may be produced based on Al09-23-2010
20110045179METHODS FOR GROWING AND HARVESTING CARBON NANOTUBES - A method for directly growing carbon nanotubes, and in particular single-walled carbon nanotubes on a flat substrate, such as a silicon wafer, and subsequently transferring the nanotubes onto the surface of a polymer film, or separately harvesting the carbon nanotubes from the flat substrate.02-24-2011

20100026605F-INVERTED COMPACT ANTENNA FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD - An F-inverted compact antenna for ultra-low volume Wireless Sensor Networks is developed with a volume of 0.024λ×0.06λ×0.076λ, ground plane included, where λ is a resonating frequency of the antenna. The radiation efficiency attained is 48.53% and the peak gain is −1.38 dB. The antenna is easily scaled to higher operating frequencies up to 2500 MHz bands with comparable performance. The antenna successfully transmits and receives signals with tolerable errors. It includes a standard PCB board with dielectric block thereon and helically contoured antenna wound from a copper wire attached to the dielectric block and oriented with the helix axis parallel to the PCB. The antenna demonstrates omnidirectional radiation patterns and is highly integratable with WSN, specifically in Smart Dust sensors. The antenna balances the trade offs between performance and overall size and may be manufactured with the use of milling technique and laser cutters.02-04-2010
