20110050349BOOSTED-RAIL AMPLIFIER - An amplifier device including an amplifier having an input for receiving an audio input signal and an output for sending an output signal to a load. A boosted-rail circuit is connected to a power source and has a single boosted rail connected to the BTL amplifier. Also, a common-mode circuit is coupled to the boosted-rail circuit and the BTL amplifier. The common-mode circuit sends a common-mode signal to the BTL amplifier that will dynamically track the output voltage supplied from the boosted-rail circuit to the BTL amplifier. In operation, the boosted-rail circuit reacts to the BTL amplifier and switches from a non-boost mode to a boost mode to increase the output voltage supplied to the BTL when the BTL amplifier requires additional voltage.03-03-2011
20110148521DYNAMIC CONSTANT POWER AMPLIFIER - A switching amplifier including a voltage sensor circuit connected to a high voltage supply rail for measuring the power supply voltage. A current sensor circuit is connected to the high voltage supply rail for measuring the power supply current. An error amplifier is connected to the switching amplifier and receives one or more values based on the measurements taken by the voltage sensor and current sensor, and the error amplifier produces an error signal when a predetermined power limit is exceeded. A signal limiting circuit is connected to the error amplifier and the switching amplifier and limits the output power to rated power at any rated load impedance when the error amplifier produces the error signal. This switching amplifier is capable of automatically limiting output power at rated power into all rated load impedances, and dynamically reacts to the frequency-dependant impedance of a typical audio system.06-23-2011

20080216462SOLID PROPELLANT BURN RATE, PROPELLANT GAS FLOW RATE, AND PROPELLANT GAS PRESSURE PULSE GENERATION CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD - Systems and methods of controlling solid propellant burn rate, propellant gas pressure, propellant gas pressure pulse shape, and propellant gas flow rate, rely on pulse width modulation of a control valve duty cycle. A control valve that is movable between a closed position and a full-open position is disposed downstream of, and in fluid communication with, a solid propellant gas generator. The solid propellant in the solid propellant gas generator is ignited, to thereby generate propellant gas. The control valve is moved between the closed position and the full-open position at an operating frequency and with a valve duty cycle. The valve duty cycle is the ratio of a time the control valve is in the full-open position to a time it takes the valve to complete one movement cycle at the operating frequency. The valve duty cycle is controlled to attain a desired solid propellant burn rate, propellant gas pressure, propellant gas pressure pulse shape, and/or propellant gas flow rate.09-11-2008

Propellant gas pressure and a vehicle inertial characteristic are sensed. Propellant gas pressure commands and vehicle thrust commands are generated. A propellant gas pressure error is determined based on the propellant gas pressure commands and the sensed propellant gas pressure, and vehicle thrust error is determined based on the vehicle thrust commands and the sensed vehicle inertial characteristic. Reaction control valves are moved between closed and full-open positions based on the determined propellant gas pressure error and on the determined vehicle thrust error. The system and method allow the reaction control valves to operate at variable frequencies or at fixed frequencies. The system and method also allows propellant pressure to be commanded to follow a predetermined pressure profile or commanded to vary “on-the-fly.”10-28-2010
