20100026709METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SUB-PIXEL RENDERING WITH GAMMA ADJUSTMENT - Sub-pixel rendering with gamma adjustment allows the luminance of the sub-pixel arrangement to match the non-linear gamma response of the human eye's luminance channel. For each of a subset of input sampled data indicating a region of an input image, a gamma-adjusted data value is generated for each input image data value in the subset using a local average of at least two input image data values. A sub-pixel rendering operation uses the subset of gamma-adjusted data values and the subset of input image data values to produce an output data value for each sub-pixel element on the display panel. A plurality of output data values collectively indicates an output image. The gamma adjustment allows the sub-pixel rendering to operate independently of the actual gamma of a display device. The sub-pixel rendering techniques with gamma adjustment may improve image contrast in high spatial frequency portions of an image.02-04-2010
20110157217METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SUB-PIXEL RENDERING WITH GAMMA ADJUSTMENT - Sub-pixel rendering with gamma adjustment allows the luminance for the sub-pixel arrangement to match the non-linear gamma response of the human eye's luminance channel, while the chrominance can match the linear response of the human eye's chrominance channels. The gamma correction allows the sub-pixel rendering to operate independently of the actual gamma of a display device. The sub-pixel rendering techniques with gamma adjustment may be optimized for the gamma transfer curve of a display device in order to improve response time, dot inversion balance, and contrast.06-30-2011

20090042573Radio Bearer Dependent Forwarding For Handover - This invention employs an inherent tradeoff in a radio bearer dependent data handling method for intra-E-UTRA handoffs. For user equipment using real time data, the source node forwards to the target node not yet acknowledged real time service data units and disconnects. This makes the handoff latency short at the expense of data traffic between nodes. For user equipment not needing real time data, the source node continues to receive user equipment acknowledgements during a time out period and only forwards service data units acknowledged during the time out period. This reduces X2 interface traffic between the source and target nodes but extends the handoff latency.02-12-2009

20090068685Method of Identifying Biomarkers in Human Serum Indicative of Pathologies of Human Lung Tissues - A method of identifying altered biomarker expression levels in a human serum specimen to diagnose asthma or non-small celled lung cancers in humans. The existence of asthma or non-small celled lung cancers in a patient can be determined by subjecting a blood sample from the patient to a simple blood test to determine the expression levels of certain specific biomarkers. The expression levels of the specific biomarkers are compared to ranges of expression levels for the same biomarkers which are indicative of individuals known to have asthma, non-small cell lung cancers, or neither. Comparing the expression levels will determine the existence or non-existence of asthma or non-small cell lung cancer.03-12-2009
20090069189METHOD OF IDENTIFYING PROTEINS IN HUMAN SERUM INDICATIVE OF PATHOLOGIES OF HUMAN LUNG TISSUES - A method of identifying proteins present in human serum which are differentially expressed between normal individuals and patients known to have non-small cell lung cancers and asthma, as diagnosed by a physician. Human serum specimens from each population are digested with trypsin or any other suitable endoproteinase and analyzed using a liquid chromatography electrospray ionization mass spectrometer. Mass spectral data from each population is compared to determine proteins with expression intensities which are significantly differentially expressed between the normal, asthma, and lung cancer populations.
