20110138179Scalable Session Management - Scalable session management is achieved by generating a cookie that includes an encrypted session key and encrypted cookie data. The cookie data is encrypted using the session key. The session key is then signed and encrypted using one or more public/private key pairs. The encrypted session key can be decrypted and verified using the same private/public key pair(s). Once verified, the decrypted session key can then be used to decrypt and verify the encrypted cookie data. A first server having the private/public key pair(s) may generate the cookie using a randomly generated session key. A second server having the same private/public key pair(s) may decrypt and verify the cookie even if the session key is not initially installed on the second server. A session key cache may be used to provide session key lookup to save public/private key operations on the servers.06-09-2011

20090213998METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING PROPERTIES OF A TELECOMMUNICATION TRANSMISSION LINE - A method and device for estimating one or more transmission properties of a telecommunication transmission line. At least one signal is sent on the line, the at least one signal including at least two frequencies for which the absolute value of the line propagation constant times the line length is less than π, and a resulting signal is received. An estimate of at least one transmission line property is then determined by examining the relationship between the sent and resulting signal or signals. The process may be repeated, if necessary. The estimate determination may also be repeated one or more times, with each successive estimate preferably using for the determination only those frequencies for which, as previously estimated, the absolute value of the line propagation constant times the line length is less than π.08-27-2009

20090319206Timing analysis - A method is provided for identifying resonant frequency vibration events in an assembly of rotating blades mounted on a rotor. A plurality of circumferentially spaced stationary timing probes associated with the blades detect the times at which the blades pass the respective probes. The method includes the steps of: 12-24-2009

20100190141LANGUAGE LEARNING - A language teaching aid includes a phrase or sentence in a first language and, adjacent each word in the phrase or sentence, an exact translation into a second language of that word in the context used in the phrase or sentence. Adjacent the exact translation of one or more juxtaposed words, but fewer than all the words of the phrase or sentence, there is a further translation into the second language to render that word or those words more easily understood by the learner. The language teaching aid may be in the form of a book with sentences which together form a story.07-29-2010

20080291923Application routing in a distributed compute environment - A multi-level classification scheme for classifying subscriber traffic at a network node coupled between subscribers of network services and providers of the network services includes two levels of classification. The subscriber traffic is received at the network service node. A first portion of the subscriber traffic is selectively routed from a plurality of first level routers to a plurality of second level routers within the network service node. The first portion of the subscriber traffic is then selectively routed from the second level routers to network applications executing within the network service node for processing.11-27-2008
20080298230Scheduling of workloads in a distributed compute environment - A method of workload scheduling in a distributed compute environment includes assigning a subscriber of a network service to a first compute node instance (“CNI”) of a plurality of CNIs within a network node interposed between the subscriber and a provider of the network service. The subscriber traffic associated with the subscriber is processed at the first CNI. Subscriber specific data is generated at the first CNI related to the subscriber traffic. The subscriber specific data is then backed up to a second CNI of the network node that is designated as a standby CNI that will process the subscriber traffic if the first CNI fails.12-04-2008
20090034426Monitoring quality of experience on a per subscriber, per session basis - A system and method for monitoring quality of experience includes forwarding a data packet flow carrying content between first and second endpoints. The data packet flow is forwarded at an intermediate point between the first and second endpoints so that the first and second endpoints are communicatively coupled over one or more networks through the intermediate point. The data packet flow is analyzed at the intermediate point and an intermediate point quality of content rating of the content received at the intermediate point is generated. A report detailing one or more attributes about the data packet flow based at least in part on the intermediate point quality of content rating is further generated.02-05-2009
20090086651Intelligent collection and management of flow statistics - A system and method for collecting packet flow statistics within a network node includes forwarding packet flows received at the network node between subscribers of one or more network services and one or more providers of the network services. The flow statistics related to each of the packet flows passing through the network node are collected and statistics summaries are generated in real-time within the network node summarizing the flow statistics on a per subscriber basis.04-02-2009
20100017416SERIALIZABLE OBJECTS AND A DATABASE THEREOF - A technique to communicate data between a management layer and an interface layer of a network device having traffic modules and compute modules includes using a converter to convert a serializable object between file formats. The management layer is executed on at least one of the compute modules and the interface layer is executed on the one of the compute modules. Data is communicated between the interface layer and the management layer via invoking the converter to convert the data from a first format used in the interface layer to a serializable object in the management layer.01-21-2010
20100023552SERIALIZABLE OBJECTS AND A DATABASE THEREOF - A technique to communicate data between two objects in a computing environment includes invoking a write method of a first object. A converter associated with a second object having a second format for storing the data is then invoked. The converter converts field values associated with first fields of the first object to the second format. The converted field values are then written into second fields of the second object.01-28-2010
