20100109881UNOBTRUSIVE DRIVER DROWSINESS DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD - A drowsiness detection system and method uses Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) signal processing to detect whether a vehicle driver is drowsy. The system uses a decomposed component of the steering wheel signal to extract specific features representing the steering control degradation phases. The system classifies the measured features into alert or drowsy state. The detection system is independent of the road geometry and automatically compensates steering control performance variability between drivers. The system is accurate in detecting the drowsy periods and drowsy-related lane departures. The detection system is unobtrusive and can be applied on-line.05-06-2010

20110026629SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENCODING AND DECODING OF SPACE-TIME BLOCK CODES IN DATA COMMUNICATION - A wireless data communication system. The system includes: a transmitter having a unitary rotation matrix processor for processing incoming information data stream and outputting a plurality of transmission symbols; an encoder for encoding the plurality of transmission symbols; M number of mapper units for mapping the symbols outputted from the encoder into a two dimensional constellation having M data symbols, where M is an integer greater than 1; M number of pulse shaper units to modulate the respective signals from the two dimensional constellation; and M number of antennas to transmit the M data symbols in M time slots. Each antenna transmits a respective symbol from the M symbols in a respective time slot of the M time slots and the encoder is configured to determine which symbol to be transmitted from each antenna in each time slot.02-03-2011

20090210954GENES - The present invention relates to two primordial germ cell-specific expressed genes, 08-20-2009
20090298155Epigenetic Regulatory Complex for Control of Gene Expression - An epigenetic regulatory polypeptide complex comprises at least a first domain having site-specific DNA binding activity and at least a second domain having an arginine methyltransferase activity, wherein the second domain is capable of methylating an arginine residue located in the tail region of a histone H2A. The complex is able to regulate gene expression in cells, particularly in mammalian stem cells by controlling the methylation of R3 in the tail regions of histones H2A and H4. The complex is exemplified by a polypeptide complex comprising the DNA binding activity of Blimpi and the arginine methyltransferase activity of Prmt5.12-03-2009
20110190152PLURIPOTENCY ASSOCIATED EPIGENETIC FACTOR - A method for controlling the pluripotent phenotype of a cell comprising modulating the expression or activity of a ESET/SETDB1 polypeptide, or a homologue thereof, within the cell is provided. Pluripotent cells, cultures of such cells and methods for reprogramming somatic cells to a pluripotent phenotype comprising expressing a ESET/SETDB1 polypeptide in the cells, either alone or in combination with other pluripotency factors, are further provided. Methods for identifying modulators of pluripotency and their use in treating cancer or cancer stem cells are also provided.08-04-2011
