20100224115BUMPER SYSTEM - Variations of a bumper systems are disclosed. A bumper system may have one or more rotatable members and/or non-rotatable members configured to protect a vessel or structure during docking maneuvers and mooring. The rotatable and non-rotatable members may be located at any one or more desired locations on the vessel and/or its mooring. In use, rotatable members are rotated from a first rotational position to a second rotational position. Various components of the bumper system may be configured to provide protection due to their compressibility, tiltability, flexibility and/or moveability. The connection between a rotatable member and its substrate may serve as an axis of rotation of the rotatable member, may be configured to include one or more mechanisms for rotating the rotatable member and may also include mechanisms for absorbing and/or dissipating the energy transmitted during physical interactions between vessels, and/or structures. The rotatable and non-rotatable members may be configured to extend from a surface to which they are connected, and the bumper system may also be configured such that a boundary is formed between one or more rotatable members, non-rotatable members, and the substrate to which they are connected. Methods for manufacturing and using bumper systems according to the described configurations are also disclosed.09-09-2010

20080209997System, method, and apparatus for fracture design optimization - A method for optimizing fracture treatments includes interpreting a nominal pump schedule corresponding to a nominal value for each fracture control parameter. The method further includes interpreting environmental variables, and interpreting probability distributions for each of the environmental variables that is uncertain. The method further includes defining an objective function such as a net present value of each fracture treatment over a 365 day period following the fracture treatment. The method includes determining an optimal value for each fracture control parameter according to the objective function by determining the fracture control parameter values that yield the best mean net present value given the variability in the environmental variables as described by their probability distributions.09-04-2008
20100108316METHOD OF IMPROVING RECOVERY FROM HYDROCARBON RESERVOIRS - A method of increasing the recovery of hydrocarbons from a highly fractured reservoir is described using the steps of injecting into the reservoir a membrane-forming fluid to form a membrane over the surface of at least part of exposed formation, injecting into the reservoir a fluid to establish a chemical potential gradient across the membrane and letting fluid enter the formation across the membrane to increase the pressure inside the formation and to force additional hydrocarbon from the formation.05-06-2010

20090260880Method for determining a set of net present values to influence the drilling of a wellbore and increase production - A method is disclosed for modeling a first reservoir while drilling a wellbore into a corresponding second reservoir, the first reservoir having a plurality of stations, comprising: determining a plurality of values of net present value corresponding, respectively, to the plurality of stations of the first reservoir; and drilling the wellbore into the corresponding second reservoir in accordance with the plurality of values of net present value.10-22-2009
20090271117System and Method for Deep Formation Evaluation - A technique facilitates formation evaluation by deploying tools in a subterranean environment. A logging tool is deployed in a wellbore to obtain formation related measurements. Additionally, one or more mobile robots also are positioned in the subterranean environment at unique positions that facilitate accumulation of data related to the formation. The data obtained from the logging tool and the one or more mobile robots is processed in a manner that enables deep formation evaluation.10-29-2009
20100252264METHOD OF TREATING A SUBTERRANCAN FORMATION WITH COMBINED BREAKER AND FLUID LOSS ADDITIVE - A method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore is accomplished by introducing a fluid into the wellbore containing a combined fluid loss additive and breaker. The combined fluid loss additive and breaker is formed from particles of an organic peroxide provided on a substrate. The particles are sized to facilitate fluid loss control. A treatment operation is carried out wherein a treatment fluid viscosified with a polymer is introduced into the formation through the wellbore.10-07-2010
