SELECTION OF ITEMS IN A VIRTUALIZED VIEW - Disclosed herein is a system and method for selecting items or tiles when they are displayed using a virtualized display window. The system uses the row relative coordinates of each tile to determine whether those tiles were selected by the user. As the user scrolls or moves off of the originally displayed window, information related to the unrealized tiles that were once realized is stored so that selection of unrealized tiles is possible. Typically, the user will select tiles by indicating a starting point and drawing a rectangle to the desired ending point. Information related to the tiles that are intersected by the rectangle or enclosed in the rectangle are stored for use in the selection process in case those tiles are unrealized during the selection process. Once the tiles have been selected the user can perform operations on the selected tiles in a customary fashion. | 12-31-2009

PRESENTATION OF HEADERS FOR GROUPS OF LOCATIONS IN AN ELECTRONIC LIBRARY - The presentation of headers for groups of locations in a library comprising a collection of locations is disclosed. One disclosed embodiment comprises receiving a request to organize a library into groups according to a selected property, and organizing the locations into groups such that locations within a selected group have a common value of the selected property. If the common value of the selected property for the selected group corresponds to an object distinct from the locations in the group, then a first type of group header configured to accept a first set of user inputs associated with the header is displayed. Otherwise, a second type of group header configured to accept a second, different set of user inputs is displayed. | 12-31-2009
DYNAMIC SEARCH RESULT HIGHLIGHTING - A dynamic highlighting system initially applies a high-level highlight to occurrences of one or more keywords in a search result that fades to a low-level highlight effect. The system receives search results from a search engine and identifies occurrences of keywords in the search results. The system applies a first highlight effect to identified occurrences of the keywords and displays the search results incorporating the highlighted keywords. Upon detecting the occurrence of a highlighting change event, such as the expiration of a timer, the system applies a second highlight effect to the displayed search results. The second highlight effect may include removing the highlight or displaying a muted highlight effect. Thus, the dynamic highlighting system provides an initial noticeable highlight that fades to a level that is still noticeable but is less likely to distract the user from other elements of the user interface. | 05-06-2010

ADMINISTRATION OF TLR7 LIGANDS AND PRODRUGS THEREOF FOR TREATMENT OF INFECTION BY HEPATITIS C VIRUS - This invention relates to methods for treating or preventing hepatitis C virus infections in mammals using Toll-Like Receptor (TLR)7 ligands and prodrugs thereof. More particularly, this invention relates to methods of orally administering a therapeutically effective amount of one or more prodrugs of TLR7 ligands for the treatment or prevention of hepatitis C viral infection. Oral administration of these TLR7 immunomodulating ligands and prodrugs thereof to a mammal provides therapeutically effective amounts and reduced undesirable side effects. | 12-03-2009
3- -D-RIBOFURANOSYLTHIAZOLO[4-5-d]PYRIMIDINE NUCLEOSIDES AND USES THEREOF - The invention is directed to 3-β-D-ribofuranosylthiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine nucleosides and pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds that have immunomodulatory activity. The invention is also directed to the therapeutic or prophylactic use of such compounds and compositions, and to methods of treating diseases and disorders described herein, by administering effective amounts of such compounds. | 10-14-2010

REGISTRATION FOR SYSTEM LEVEL SEARCH USER INTERFACE - A system level search module receives system level search user interface registration information for an application of the computing device. The registration information includes an indication of how the system level search module can launch the application. The registration information is added to a registration store, and the application is included as one of one or more applications that can be searched using the system level search user interface. | 05-17-2012
EXTENSIBLE SEARCH TERM SUGGESTION ENGINE - A search term suggestion engine of a computing device receives characters of user data as the characters are input. The user data is at least part of a search term to be provided to one of multiple applications to search for the search term. An indication of multiple suggestion sources is received from the one application, and one or more suggested search terms are obtained, from the multiple suggestion sources, based on the received characters. One or more suggested search terms can also be obtained from the multiple suggestion sources based on one or more linguistic alternatives for the received characters. The one or more suggested search terms are combined into a combined set of suggested search terms, and the combined set of suggested search terms is returned to a search user interface for presentation to the user. | 05-17-2012
SYSTEM LEVEL SEARCH USER INTERFACE - A system level search user interface that includes both a data entry portion and an application identification portion is displayed. User data input as a search term is displayed in the data entry portion, and identifiers of each of one or more applications of multiple applications on the computing device that can be searched using the search term are displayed in the application identification portion. The search term is provided to one application of the multiple applications for that one application to generate and display search results based on the search term while the display of at least the data entry portion of the system level search user interface is maintained. | 05-17-2012
Facilitating Interaction with System Level Search User Interface - A system level search user interface that includes both a data entry portion and a search identification portion is displayed. Data input by a user as a search term is displayed in the data entry portion, and identifiers of each of one or more scopes on the computing device that can be searched using the search term are displayed in the search identification portion. Search results based on a selected scope are displayed in a search results portion of the system level search user interface. A set of keyboard shortcuts allow users to quickly search using any of the scopes, and see previews of a number of results that each of the scopes return. Additionally, the system level search user interface allow users to easily focus on different search result entries, and efficiently change scopes for searching. | 05-17-2012

AMPHIBIOUS DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A BOAT - An improved amphibious drive system for a watercraft. The amphibious drive system features a paddled drive wheel which is operatively mounted to a drive frame. The drive frame pivots about a horizontal pivot joint. The drive wheel can thereby be raised and lowered with respect to the watercraft. In the elevated position the drive wheel is only partially submerged in the water (such that the drive wheel may operate like a paddlewheel). In the lowered position the drive is submerged more deeply in the water. The amphibious drive system also features a mount plate for attaching the amphibious drive system to the transom of the watercraft. A swing-arm frame links the drive frame to the mount plate. The swing-arm frame pivots in the horizontal direction relative to the watercraft via a vertically-oriented kingpin. This action angularly offsets the thrust from the drive wheel, thereby allowing steering. | 09-18-2008
