20110095479BOARD GAME - The board game requires two or more alternating players to place tiles on a game board while attempting to form a sequential line along a row, column, or diagonal of the board while simultaneously preventing the opponent(s) from doing so. One rule requires the winning player to form a line of tiles of precisely the number required to win, i.e., a longer line does not win. Another rule prohibits players from forming multiple branched lines having a single common point, if those lines are within two tiles of the number required to win. Thus, a player may not form two joined lines having four potential playing orientations to win, with the opponent having only three turns remaining to block such play. Players may select the number of tiles required for a win, and/or the size of the game board. The game may also be adapted to computer or electronic play.04-28-2011

20090107499Expiratory Volume Reservoir for a Ventilator Patient Circuit - A ventilation system providing inspiratory air to a patient and receiving expiratory air from the patient. The ventilation system comprises a ventilator operable between an inspiratory phase and an expiratory phase of a respiration cycle. The ventilator has an inspiratory outlet for providing inspiratory air to a patient during the inspiratory phase and an expiratory inlet for receiving expiratory air from the patient during the expiratory phase. A patient circuit is configured in fluid communication with the lungs of a patient. The patient circuit conveys inspiratory air from the inspiratory outlet to a patient's lungs during the inspiratory phase and conveys expiratory air from the patient's lungs to the expiratory inlet during the expiratory phase. A flow transducer is provided in fluid communication with the patient circuit. The flow transducer is configured to detect a minimum volume of expiratory air in the patient circuit during the expiratory phase of a respiratory cycle. An elastic reservoir is provided in fluid communication with the patient circuit and the flow transducer. The elastic reservoir is configured to expand to a first volume during the inspiratory phase of the respiratory cycle and contract to a second volume during the expiratory phase of the respiratory cycle. A volume difference between the first volume and the second volume is at least equal to the minimum volume.04-30-2009

20090095901CHEMICAL IONIZATION REACTION OR PROTON TRANSFER REACTION MASS SPECTROMETRY WITH A QUADRUPOLE MASS SPECTROMETER - A system and methods are described for generating reagent ions and product ions for use in a quadrupole mass spectrometry system. A microwave or high-frequency RF energy source ionizes particles of a reagent vapor to form reagent ions. The reagent ions enter a chamber, such as a drift chamber, to interact with a fluid sample. An electric field directs the reagent ions and facilitates an interaction with the fluid sample to form product ions. The reagent ions and product ions then exit the chamber under the influence of an electric field for detection by a quadrupole mass spectrometer module. The system includes various control modules for setting values of system parameters and analysis modules for detection of mass values for ion species during spectrometry and faults within the system.04-16-2009
20090095902CHEMICAL IONIZATION REACTION OR PROTON TRANSFER REACTION MASS SPECTROMETRY WITH A TIME-OF-FLIGHT MASS SPECTROMETER - A system, components thereof, and methods are described for time-of-flight mass spectrometry. A microwave or high-frequency RF energy source is used to ionize a reagent vapor to form reagent ions. The reagent ions enter a chamber and interact with a fluid sample to form product ions. The reagent ions and product ions are directed to a time-of-flight mass spectrometer module for detection and determination of a mass value for the ions. The time-of-flight mass spectrometer module can include an optical system and an ion beam adjuster for focusing, interrupting, or altering a flow of reagent and product ions according to a specified pattern. The time-of-flight mass spectrometer module can include signal processing techniques to collect and analyze an acquired signal, for example, using statistical signal processing, such as maximum likelihood signal processing.04-16-2009

20090163623Equestrian Surfacing Materials - Disclosed are surfacing materials formed from a suitable angular or sub-angular base sand mixture that is coated with a polymer or polymer/oil blend and then combined with short fibers to produce the final surfacing composition. The polymers and polymer/oil blends are selected to reduce temperature dependent viscosity variations in the surfacing materials, thereby providing a more consistent “going” for horses or other livestock being worked on these surfacing materials. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing such surfacing compositions and methods of using such surfacing compositions in constructing riding venues including, for example, arenas and tracks.06-25-2009

20080283560SIDE SEATING INFANT CARRIER - A side seating infant carrier which is adapted to support an infant or young child on an adult wearer's hip and is provided with a retention strap arrangement which is specifically adapted to hold the infant or young child within a seat portion defined by the carrier. The infant carrier of the present invention is further provided with a waist belt arrangement adapted to provide optimal support to the lower back/lumbar of the wearer, as well as an adjustable shoulder strap arrangement which is configured to promote enhanced comfort and sizing flexibility.11-20-2008
20080283561SIDE SEATING INFANT CARRIER - A side seating infant carrier which is adapted to support an infant or young child on an adult wearer's hip and is provided with a retention strap arrangement which is specifically adapted to hold the infant or young child within a seat portion defined by the carrier. As a supplement to the retention strap, the carrier is also provided with a pair of leg straps which are extensible about respective ones of the infant's legs. The infant carrier of the present invention is further provided with a waist belt arrangement adapted to provide optimal support to the lower back/lumbar of the wearer, as well as an adjustable shoulder strap arrangement which is configured to promote enhanced comfort and sizing flexibility.11-20-2008
20080287032INFANT VIEWING AUTO MIRROR - An infant viewing auto mirror comprising a main panel having a reflective surface (i.e., mirror) exposed in the front side or surface thereof, and a flap affixed to the rear surface thereof. The flap is releasably secured to the rear surface of the main panel through the use of complimentary snaps. In addition to the main panel, the auto mirror comprises a mounting strap which is extensible about and removably attachable to a headrest through the use of a strip of Velcro disposed adjacent one end of the strap which is itself releasably engageable to a portion of the strap adjacent the opposite end thereof. Protruding from one side of the strap in the approximate center thereof is a dome-shaped support fabricated from hard foam. Extending diametrically across the support is a strip of fabric material. When the strap is properly secured to the headrest, the foam support (and hence the strip) is forwardly presented. The main panel is cooperatively engaged to the strap by advancing or “threading” the flap of the main panel between the fabric strip and foam support of the strap, the main panel being maintained in releasable engagement to the strap by thereafter snapping the flap to the rear surface of the main panel.11-20-2008

20110053684PARI-MUTUEL GAME - The present invention is directed to a pari-mutuel contest in general and a pari-mutuel contest which requires participants to place wagers on a grouping of contestants which have been segregated into subsets from a field of contestants. The segregation is based on a predetermined criteria. The participants are required to select a predetermined quantity of contestants from each respective grouping with the totality of the contestants performance aggregated to determine a participants score. Winnings are calculated on a pari-mutual bases based on the respective scores.03-03-2011
