20080304185Drum assembly associated with video tape machine - A method of manufacturing a drum assembly associated with a digital betacam video tape machine is disclosed. The method includes providing a helical scan drum assembly having a stationary upper drum, a stationary lower drum and a plurality of rotating read/write heads disposed between the stationary upper and lower drums. The rotating read/write heads reading and writing digital information to and from a tape. The method further includes inserting air grooves in the outer peripheral surface of the upper drum. The air grooves are configured to reduce sticktion between the tape and the outer peripheral surface of the upper drum when the tape is moved around the outer peripheral surface of the upper drum. The method additional includes mounting an adjustable band to the outer peripheral surface of the lower drum. The adjustable band is configured to guide the tape around the drum assembly in accordance with helical scans when the tape is moved around the outer peripheral surface of the upper drum.12-11-2008

20110239814Shock and vibration damping handlebar mounting assembly - A shock and vibration damping handlebar mounting assembly, for vehicles that utilizes handlebar assisted steering, where the handlebar and its clamping components are suspended by shock and vibration damping springs and materials. The suspended components are allowed to travel along a guide, in a predetermined beneficial path, while maintaining the rider preferred handlebar angles, as the vehicle encounters shock due to rough terrain. Springs dampen the motion of the suspended components reducing the effects of the rough terrain to the rider's hands. The suspended components are isolated from the vehicle's steering mechanism by isolation components made of deadening materials thus reducing the transfer of vibration from the vehicle to the rider's hands.10-06-2011

20090136559Chondrocyte Differentiation from Human Embryonic Stem Cells and Their Use in Tissue Engineering - Methods for inducing differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into chondrocytes for use in tissue engineering applications are provided. One example of a method is a method for inducing differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into chondrocytes comprising aggregating undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells to form embryoid bodies; and culturing the embryoid bodies in culture medium in the presence of growth factors that induce chondrogenic differentiation of the embryoid bodies.05-28-2009
20090142307Shape-Based Approach for Scaffoldless Tissue Engineering - Methods for forming tissue engineered constructs without the use of scaffolds and associated methods of use in tissue replacement. One example of a method may comprise providing a shaped hydrogel negative mold; seeding the mold with cells; allowing the cells to self-assemble in the mold to form a tissue engineered construct.06-04-2009
20090155333Dermis-Derived Cells for Tissue Engineering Applications - Methods for inducing differentiation of dermis-derived cells to serve as a source of chondrocytes and associated methods of use in forming tissue engineered constructs. One example of a method is a method for inducing differentiation of cells into chondrocytes comprising providing aggrecan sensitive isolated dermis cells and seeding the cells onto an aggrecan coated surface.06-18-2009
20110053262METHODS OF FABRICATING ENHANCED TISSUE-ENGINEERED CARTILAGE - Compositions and methods for fabricating a tissue-engineered cartilage construct comprising: providing a cell sample comprising a plurality of chondrocytes; culturing the cell sample to produce a tissue-engineered cartilage construct; and treating the tissue-engineered cartilage construct, wherein treating the tissue-engineered cartilage construct comprises the use of a biochemical reagent, a mechanical force, hydrostatic pressure, or any combination thereof.03-03-2011
