20090038213PRE-BURNING, DRY PROCESS METHODOLOGY AND SYSTEMS FOR ENHANCING METALLURGICAL SOLID FUEL PROPERTIES - Measurements are taken of moisture, BTU/lb (British Thermal Units per pound), ash, forms of sulfur, volatile material, grindability, and absorption properties of any of a wide variety of mine-run solid fuels. Using that information, a dry electromagnetic process technology has been developed that can be controlled and monitored to selectively alter and enhance metallurgical solid fuel properties. Specific changes include altering the mechanical structure and chemical composition of solid fuels such as coal, coal coke or petroleum coke, increasing the BTU/lb to optimum levels, decreasing all forms of sulfur, and decreasing ash, while maintaining the BTU/lb of the fuels. A new family of solid fuel designer coals not found in nature can be produced via these methods and apparatus.02-12-2009

20090314887THRUST REVERSER CASCADE ASSEMBLY AND AFT CASCADE RING WITH FLOW DEFLECTOR PORTION - An aircraft engine thrust reverser cascade assembly includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced cascade segments, each cascade segment including a plurality of spaced vanes including an aft-most vane, and an aft end. The cascade assembly also includes an aft cascade ring removably attached to the aft ends of the cascade segments. The aft cascade ring includes a deflector portion that at least partially extends forward of the aft ends of the cascade segments. The deflector portion is configured to at least partially redirect at least a portion of a volume of air as the air outwardly passes between the aft-most vanes and the aft ends of the cascade segments.12-24-2009
20100109208MULTI-SEGMENT TOOL AND METHOD FOR COMPOSITE FORMATION - A multi-segment tool and tooling system for vacuum forming a composite part. A tool can include a first tool having first and second surfaces. A second tool can have an opening positioned on a first tool in a location other than the first surface or the second surface. The first tool and second tool can receive at least a portion of a preform composite. The first tool can have a vacuum barrier attached to the first surface and to the second surface encapsulating the preform composite and the second tool. A tooling system can include a first tool having a core and a base with a core extending upwards from the base. A second tool can be positioned upon the core where the core extends above the second tool. A vacuum barrier sealed to the base and the core can include a composite, the first tool and the second tool.05-06-2010

20100248343Methods and Devices for Charged Molecule Manipulation - Devices and methods for constraining or holding a cell are provided. In one aspect, for example, a cellular constraint device is provided. Such a device can include a support surface and at least one constraining arm movably coupled to the support surface. The constraining arm has a first position in which the constraining arm is substantially parallel and substantially adjacent to the support surface. Additionally, at least a portion of the constraining arm is movable away from the support surface to a second position where the constraining arm is operable to constrain a single cell.09-30-2010
20100323419Methods and Devices for Charged Molecule Manipulation - Systems and methods for manipulating molecular material are provided. In one aspect, for example, a method for manipulating molecular material may include positioning an uncharged needle structure in electrical proximity with a charged molecular material at a first locus in a liquid environment, charging the needle structure such that at least a portion of the charged molecular material becomes associated with the needle structure, moving the needle structure and the first locus relative to one another, and discharging the needle structure to disassociate the charged molecular material at a second locus.12-23-2010

20110008132Cover Conveyor For Perfect Binding Machine - A method and apparatus for sequentially delivering book or magazine covers of the same or differing width dimension to a perfect binding system such that books or magazines of differing size can be produced without requiring system downtime for resetting of cover guiderail settings. Associated with each cover size is a cover feeder arranged to deliver covers therefrom, one a time, between members of a given pair of guiderails that are assembled in stacked parallel relationship on the bed of the cover conveyor. Under control of a microprocessor-based controller, covers of a predetermined size arrive at the gluing station of the perfect binder in synchronism with signatures of a selected size corresponding to the cover to be applied.01-13-2011
