20080225276SYSTEM FOR MEASURING THE WAVELENGTH DISPERSION AND NONLINEAR COEFFICIENT OF AN OPTICAL FIBER - A method of simultaneously specifying the wavelength dispersion and nonlinear coefficient of an optical fiber. Pulsed probe light and pulsed pump light are first caused to enter an optical fiber to be measured. Then, the power oscillation of the back-scattered light of the probe light or idler light generated within the optical fiber is measured. Next, the instantaneous frequency of the measured power oscillation is obtained, and the dependency of the instantaneous frequency relative to the power oscillation of the pump light in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber is obtained. Thereafter, a rate of change in the longitudinal direction between phase-mismatching conditions and nonlinear coefficient of the optical fiber is obtained from the dependency of the instantaneous frequency. And based on the rate of change, the longitudinal wavelength-dispersion distribution and longitudinal nonlinear-coefficient distribution of the optical fiber are simultaneously specified.09-18-2008

20090007224INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM THEREFOR - An image forming apparatus capable of flexibly setting a security policy for a modified file. A client terminal generates a print job added with a new security policy for a second file generated from a first file, and delivers the print job added with the new security policy to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus generates intermediate data based on the print job delivered from the client terminal, and causes a second policy server to register the security policy. The second policy server registers the security policy, while items of the security policy being appropriately assigned to the first and second policy servers. The second policy server generates an encryption key. The image forming apparatus encrypts the intermediate data using the encryption key, and stores the encrypted intermediate data.01-01-2009
20100002256IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD - An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method by which image data are prepared for performing image processing at high speed and while saving memory. Vector data are generated from data scanned by a scanning unit. In this process, a printing direction is determined from a content input from an operating unit or information on an outputting device. If the printing direction and the scanning direction differ, control of an order of the data is performed to prepare a document after rotation.01-07-2010
