20110055533SYSTEM MANAGEMENT INTERRUPT INTERFACE WRAPPER - In a personal computing system function calls, formatted in 16-bit format for a 16-bit interface to the firmware, are communicated through an operating system providing a System Management Interrupt (SMI) interface to the firmware. An SMI function call in SMI format is generated and sent to an SMI Interface Wrapper module between the operating system and the firmware. The SMI function call is received over the SMI interface at the SMI Interface Wrapper. In the SMI Interface Wrapper, function data from the SMI function call is extracted to provide function call data. A 16-bit function call with the function call data is generated by the SMI Interface Wrapper and passed to the firmware.03-03-2011

20090089408XML Router and method of XML Router Network Overlay Topology Creation - A system and method are provided for creating an XML network. As each XML router is added to the XML network, the new XML router registers with a group of existing XML routers in the network, and thereafter regularly exchanges hello messages with other XML routers in order to announce its initial and continued presence. Once an XML router is added to the group of routers forming the network, the adjacency of the new XML router is determined. The new XML router selects its adjacency based on a prioritized set of metrics, including TCP hops, IP cost, and fanout, along with specific parameters relating to fanout and IP cost. The order of priority of the metrics and the specific parameters can be set by an operator, allowing flexibility in creating an optimum XML network topology.04-02-2009

20090159360Energy efficient power steering pump control system - An electronic control unit monitors pressure conditions present at the input to the steering system and other vehicle data signals and then provides override control of a hydro-mechanical flow control device. An electro-hydraulic valve is connected to the supply side of the hydro-mechanical flow control device and reacts to the electronic monitoring of pressure and other vehicle data to alter the counter-balancing forces within the hydro-mechanical flow control device. This causes a by-pass diversion of steering fluid to the source by the hydro-mechanical flow control device and thereby relieves backpressure on the pump when relatively little steering assist is required to be provided by the steering system. The control of steering fluid diversion at such times results in a significant reduction in parasitic losses within the steering system and improves the operating and fuel efficiency of the vehicle.06-25-2009
