20110285763SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING COLOR AND BRIGHTNESS UNIFORMITY OF BACKLIT LCD DISPLAYS - Systems and methods for improving color and brightness uniformity of an image displayed on a backlit LCD are disclosed. In one example, a correction map is computed and applied to the LCD pixel values. In another example, the voltage settings of the backlight source components are also corrected in addition to the LCD pixel values. For efficient hardware implementation, corrections are applied using function representation of a grid data transformation relating measured values to corrected values. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the backlight source is provided by a plurality of LEDs. In another exemplary embodiment, the display consists of a plurality of OLEDs wherein the light source and the display panels coincide.11-24-2011

20080298527DIRECT DIGITAL FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER WITH PHASE SELECTABLE INTERPOLATOR - The disclosure relates to improved direct digital frequency synthesizers. A synthesizer in one embodiment is comprised of an accumulator that provides a phase signal and an interpolator having two or more interpolation polynomials. The polynomial that processes the phase signal is selected by comparing the phase signal to a threshold value. A reduced complexity digital circuit is provided for implementing the improved synthesizer.12-04-2008

20120120787RECTANGULAR POWER SPECTRAL DENSITIES OF ORTHOGONAL FUNCTIONS - In this application, a set of orthogonal functions is introduced whose power spectral densities are all rectangular shape. To find the orthogonal function set, it was considered that their spectrums (Fourier transforms of the functions) are either real-valued or imaginary-valued, which are corresponding to even and odd real-valued time domain signals, respectively. The time domain functions are all considered real-valued because they are actually physical signals. The shape of the power spectral densities of the signals are rectangular thus, the Haar orthogonal function set can be employed in the frequency domain to decompose them to several orthogonal functions. Based on the inverse Fourier transform of the Haar orthogonal functions, the time domain functions with rectangular power spectral densities can be determined. This is equivalent to finding the time-domain functions by taking the inverse Fourier transform of the frequency domain Walsh functions. The obtained functions are sampled and truncated to generate finite-length discrete signals. Truncation destroys the orthogonality of the signals. The Singular Value Decomposition method is used to restore the orthogonality of the truncated discrete signals.05-17-2012

20100121144Endoscope Accessory - This invention relates generally to an endoscope accessory. This device uses an overtube with an inflatable positioning balloon that can be inflated after placement of the overtube just proximal to the tip of the endoscope or echoendoscope. This balloon creates a temporary blockade of the gastrointestinal tract proximal to the portion that needs to be examined. The other part of the device is a catheter with an occlusion balloon affixed to its free endportion and can be passed through a passageway within the overtube and extended beyond the tip of the endoscope, distal to the part of the gastrointestinal tract that needs to be examined. Inflation of this balloon together with positioning balloon creates a closed space within the body cavity that can be filled with air or water for improving the quality of the examination with regular endoscope of echoendoscope, respectively, while reducing the examination complications.05-13-2010

20120084654Individualized Adaptable Media Presentations and Method - Individualized, adaptable media presentations and a method for creating them are disclosed. In particular, each media presentation is generated according to user input and predetermined templates, overlaid with at least an instruction and an accompaniment layers generated from media clips (audio, video, audio/video) selected based on provided user data. The instruction and accompaniment layers are variable by the user and may then be overridden by the removal and replacement of individual media clips within the layer. The method and resultant media presentations as seen as ideal for exercise and physical training regimens, though may be utilized in any situation where recreation and instruction media presentation are used.04-05-2012
