20110275095Microarrays for Allergen-Specific IgE - Biological samples are assayed for the presence of IgE antibodies specific to unknown allergens in the samples. Known allergens conjugated to biotin are attached as an array of spots on a streptavidin-linked membrane. A sample is incubated with the membrane containing attached known allergens. After washing away excess sample, the membrane is contacted with a labeled anti-IgE, e.g. alkaline phosphatase-labeled anti-IgE, thus attaching anti-IgE to the IgE from the sample, now bound to known allergens. The excess labeled anti-IgE is washed away and the attached IgE remaining on the membrane identified by adding a substrate for the label, thus producing a measurable response.11-10-2011

20100297579Brace for holding a patient's mouth open during dental procedures - A dental device includes a generally C-shaped member with upper and lower arms and a central spring arm extending therebetween. Rubber cradle members on the upper and lower arms comfortably engage the top and bottom teeth, while the spring arm urges the arm members apart. In a preferred embodiment, the rubber cradle members are fitted onto distal end positions of the upper and lower arms and are locked in place by serrated members on the distal end portions, thereby preventing slipping or accidental removal of the rubber cradles. Alternatively, the rubber cradle members may be permanently applied to the distal end portions by a dipping and coating process. When inserted and properly positioned between the upper and lower teeth, the device holds the mouth open and permits full access and movement of dental tools within the mouth in the performance of basic dental procedures, while eliminating strain on the patient's jaw muscles.11-25-2010

20080292081Conference bridge with improved handling of control signaling during an ongoing conference - In an exemplary method audible signals from participants of a conference call during the ongoing conference call are processed by a conference bridge. An incoming audible signal on a first line from a first participant is detected during the conference call with a plurality of other conference call participants coupled via corresponding other lines. The audible signal on the first line is automatically attenuated before information on the first line is summed into a common signal that is transmitted to the other conference call participants. This prevents the other participants from hearing the audible signal during the ongoing conference call.11-27-2008

20100009133Boundary configurations for multi-material print-forming - A print-forming method is disclosed which provides a method to engineer and design boundaries between the materials used in devices. The boundary includes primarily a first material on one side and primarily a second material on the other side. At least some of the second material is located on the first material side of the boundary and at least some of the first material is located on the second material side of the boundary in a precise pattern that achieve the objectives of the design. This approach is then extended to 3-dimensional shapes with any number of materials. Material properties that differ from each other thus do not exhibit an abrupt transition within the overall structure, but rather are accommodated within the boundary region. Various different exemplary boundary region configurations are disclosed, as well as techniques for optimizing this print-forming manufacturing within boundary regions.01-14-2010
