20080292704Methods and Compositions Involving Polymeric Immunoglobulin Fusion Proteins - The present invention concerns inventive polypeptides. The present invention also concerns compositions and vaccines comprising the inventive polypeptides. In other embodiments of the invention, the inventive polypeptides are provided to a subject, used to vaccinate, or used to induce immunity. Other embodiments include methods for making the inventive polypeptides and nucleic acids used to encode the inventive polypeptides.11-27-2008
20090117133POLYMERIC IMMUNOGLOBULIN FUSION PROTEINS THAT TARGET LOW AFFINITY FCyRECEPTORS - The present invention concerns a family of nucleic acids, polypeptides and cloning vectors which direct expression of fusion proteins that can mimic aggregated IgG (AIG) and immune complex function with respect to their interactions with FcγR and which allow for the inclusion and targeting of a second protein domain to cells expressing FcγR. This was accomplished by expressing multiple linear copies of the hinge and CH2 domains (HCH2) of human IgG05-07-2009

20080213408Insect Repellent - The invention provides compositions and methods useful in repelling target pests, such as insects from target areas. The compositions comprise mixtures or solutions of at least one repellent composition. The compositions of the invention preferably include an effective amount of evening primrose oil (“EPO”) to repel a target pest from a target area, such as animals, humans, plants or building structures, along with a carrier. The repellent composition may include a combination of EPO with another plant extract oil and a combination of EPO with catnip oil, optionally combined with another plant extract oil. The method for repelling target pests from animals comprises contacting a target area with the repellent composition to repel the target pest from the target area. The method also reduces transmission of infectious diseases transmitted by target pests by reducing contact of the pest with target areas.09-04-2008
20090143350Anxiolytic Marcgraviaceae Compositions Containing Betulinic Acid, Betulinic Acid Derivatives, and Methods - Pharmaceutical compositions for preventing or treating anxiety, comprising betulinic acid or derivatives thereof are provided. Methods for preventing or treating anxiety with betulinic acid or derivatives thereof are also provided. The invention further provides betulinic-acid containing preparations of plants of the family Marcgraviaceae having anxiolytic activity and methods for making such extracts and using them to prevent or treat anxiety in a subject.06-04-2009
