20090087417METHODS FOR PROMOTING DOPAMINERGIC NEURONAL DEVELOPMENT BY USING NG4A-SUBFAMILY AND WNT-LIGANDS - Methods for promoting dopaminergic neuronal development and producing neural cells having a dopaminergic phenotype. Dopaminergic neural cells may be used for treating individuals having a neurodegenerative disease such as Parkinson's disease. Dopaminergic cells may be implanted into the brain of the individual, and/or dopaminergic neural development may be induced or enhanced in the brain of the individual. Methods comprise expressing a nuclear receptor of the NG4A subfamily, e.g. Nurr1, above basal levels within the cell and treating the cell with a Wnt ligand, thereby producing or enhancing proliferation, self-renewal, survival and/or dopaminergic induction, differentiation, survival or acquisition of a neuronal dopaminergic phenotype. The cell may be co-cultured with astrocytes or glial cells and may be contacted with an FGF growth factor.04-02-2009

20090248210TIME PULSE PILOT FOR PRESSURE REGULATING CONTROL VALVE - In the industry, a way to control fluid pressure circulating through pipes is by means of pilot operated diaphragm pressure controlling valves. This invention specifically relates to pilots of these valves. The pilots of the previous art are mechanical devices comprising diaphragms, springs, throttling elements and slideable shafts. These mechanical devices lose reliability because they get blocked, they deregulate and break; thereby requiring frequent maintenance, and moreover, they do not have the capacity of communication with other control processes. The pilot of the present invention solves these problems because it basically comprises electronic elements which require minimal maintenance and it possesses a capacity to send data signals to other control processes. The invention consists of a pressure regulating pilot characterized by the communication of the valve chamber to high or low pressure sources being performed by time pulses during which throttling elements which communicate the chamber with such sources are opened. The frequency and duration of pulses are determined by an electronic controller, which also reads the pressure to be controlled through a pressure sensor and then compares this value to a pressure target value previously received by the controller. The electronic controller has the capacity to send and receive data signals to communicate with other devices.10-01-2009
