20100313168PERFORMING CHARACTER SELECTION AND ENTRY - Methods and systems for performing character selection and entry are provided herein. One exemplary method includes displaying a character group menu on a display, the character group menu including a plurality of character groups arranged about a central region of the character group menu, each of the plurality of character groups having a plurality of characters. The method further includes selecting, from the character group menu, a selected character group in response to a group selection operation applied to a directional controller. The method further includes displaying a character menu on the display responsive to the selecting of the selected character group, the character menu including the plurality of characters of the selected character group arranged about a central region of the character menu. The method further includes selecting, from the character menu, a selected character in response to a character selection operation applied to the directional controller.12-09-2010

20110307143Method And System For Facilitating The Exchange Of Information Between A Vehicle And A Remote Location - The present invention is directed to a system and method that includes a vehicle that exchanges information with the remote location by way of a communication network. A remote server transmits vehicle-related information to the vehicle by way of a communication system. Information may also be broadcast to and received by the vehicle by way of a broadcast communication system. A receiver of the vehicle provides user access to only a subset of the broadcast information based on user preferences of a user profile. The user may update the user profile by accessing and updating it at either the vehicle or by accessing a database. The user may access the database through a network, such as the Internet. The vehicle also selectively transmits vehicle-related information to the remote location when a predetermined event occurs. The vehicle-related information is compiled and analyzed at the remote location, and the analyzed information is transmitted back to the vehicle.12-15-2011

20080211236Contra rotating generator - Disclosed herein is an apparatus of a contra rotating generator. The contra rotating generator comprises a cylindrical armature supported on an inner shaft. The inner shaft rotates in a first direction. A cylindrical magnetic field rotor is supported on an outer shaft. The outer shaft is oriented coaxially to the inner shaft. The outer shaft contra rotates opposite to the first direction. A plurality of cam followers maintains uniform air gap between outer surface of the cylindrical armature and inner surface of the cylindrical magnetic field rotor. The uniform air gap prevents mechanical contact between the cylindrical armature and the cylindrical magnetic field rotor. A sprag clutch prevents unidirectional rotation of the inner shaft and the outer shaft. The contra rotation between the cylindrical armature and the cylindrical magnetic field rotor increases relative magnetic flux speed for generating electrical power at low speeds of operation.09-04-2008
