METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVISIONING A COMMUNICATION DEVICE - A method and apparatus for provisioning a communication device is disclosed. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a communication device having a controller element that establishes wireless communication with a base unit operating according to a short-range cordless phone communication protocol, and receives from the base unit provisioning information that enables a communication device to establish wireless communications with an access point operating according to a wireless fidelity (WiFi) communications protocol. Additional embodiments are disclosed. | 09-18-2008
SYSTEM FOR VIDEO CALL PROCESSING - A system for video call processing is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a first communication device having a controller element to establish by way of a PSTN port of the first communication device a Public Switched Telephone Network communication session with a second communication device, submit by way of a broadband port of the first communication device a first Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message to determine whether the second communication device has video capability, receive a second SIP message indicating the second communication device is video capable, present a notice indicating the second communication device is video capable, receive a request to establish video communications with the second communication device, and submit a third SIP message to establish a video communication session with the second communication device. Additional embodiments are disclosed. | 12-18-2008
System and method of organizing video content - A method of organizing video content is disclosed that includes receiving video content title amendment data at a video content organizing server from a set-top box device. The video content title amendment data indicates that a first title of the video content has been changed to a second title of the video content. The method also includes receiving a request at the video content organizing server from a remote device to access data relating to the video content. Further, the method includes sending video content second title data to the remote device in response to receiving the request. The video content second title data indicates the second title of the video content. | 01-29-2009
SYSTEM FOR MANAGING VIDEO VOICEMAIL - A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a communication device having a controller adapted to establish communications with a voicemail system over a Public Switched Telephone Network port of the communication device, receive from the voicemail system by way of a broadband port of the communication device an invitation to switch to a video call over the broadband port, transmit a Session Initiation Protocol message to establish video communications with the voicemail system, and transmit to the voicemail system a video message to be recorded by the voicemail system as a video voicemail message. Additional embodiments are disclosed. | 03-12-2009

LOW NOISE AND LOW INPUT CAPACITANCE DIFFERENTIAL MDS LNA - A differential low noise amplifier (LNA) involves two main amplifying transistors biased in saturation, and two cancel transistors biased in sub-threshold. In one example, the gates of the cancel transistors are coupled to the drains of main transistors, in a symmetrical and cross-coupled fashion. The main transistors are source degenerated. Because the gates of cancel transistors are not coupled to the differential input leads of the LNA, the input capacitance of the LNA is reduced. Noise introduced into the LNA output due to the cancel transistors being biased in the sub-threshold region is reduced because there are two stages. The first stage involves the main transistors, and the second stage involves the cancel transistors. By increasing the gain of the first stage and decreasing the gain of the second stage, overall LNA gain is maintained while reducing the noise that the sub-threshold biased transistors contribute to the LNA output. | 06-18-2009
Calibration Using Noise Power - A method calibrates a spread spectrum receiver having a received signal strength below a noise floor. The method includes estimating an input noise power, and measuring a noise power output from the receiver. The method also includes comparing the estimated input noise power with the measured output noise power to determine at least one calibration value. The method further includes calibrating the receiver based upon the at least one calibration value. | 12-03-2009
METHOD OF ACHIEVING HIGH SELECTIVITY IN RECEIVER RF FRONT-ENDS - According to some embodiments, an apparatus may comprise an amplifier, wherein the amplifier comprises: an output stage formed of a positive output terminal providing a positive output voltage and a negative output terminal providing a negative output voltage; a load tank coupled in parallel with the output stage and configured to filter signals received at the amplifier; and a negative resistance block coupled in parallel with the output stage and the load tank. | 01-14-2010
HYBRID MULTI-BAND RECEIVER - The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a system and method for processing wireless signals received from one or more communications systems. In a particular implementation, one or more signals received from one or more communication systems such as a GNSS may be processed in two or more separate wireless signal receiver paths and combined in baseband to share one analog-to-digital converter. | 10-21-2010
