Undergarments having finished edges and methods therefor - An undergarment includes at least one piece of fabric that forms the undergarment. The undergarment has leg openings. The fabric includes edges that surround the leg openings, whereby at least one of the edges surrounding the leg openings has a plurality of fibers and at least some of the fibers have free ends terminating at the at least one of the edges surrounding the leg openings. A bead of a cured polymer is disposed over the at least one of the edges surrounding the leg openings. The cured polymer bead forms a finished edge that is stretchable for adjusting to movement of the fabric. | 12-04-2008
Method and system for manufacturing garments with support panels - A method for garment manufacture fixes a smaller panel to a larger piece of body fabric using adhesive to form a panel/body fabric assembly that provides at least one of smoothness, fit adjustability, support and/or control to the a garment. The adhesive is applied to a predetermined limited region of the panel. The adhesive is a thermosetting adhesive. After the adhesive is applied, the body fabric is assembled to the panel. A system of fixing the panel to the body fabric provides a coordinate surface that supports and places the body fabric and the panel in a fixed predetermined location. An adhesive dispenser is positioned relative to the coordinate surface by a controller based upon the coordinates of the panel on the coordinate surface. The dispenser then dispenses adhesive on the. The system aligns and assembles the body fabric to the panel to form the body fabric/panel assembly. | 12-11-2008
Garments having a curable polymer thereon and a system and method for its manufacture - A method and system for garment manufacture fixes a curable polymer in either a continuous bead or in a non-continuous or segmented bead onto a cut fabric piece. The cut fabric piece, the continuous bead and the non-continuous, segmented bead have a wide array of configurations. If the cut fabric piece has a contoured edge region, a silicone bead proximate that edge has a conforming configuration. In the method, the cut fabric piece is placed in a coordinate space. The location of the cut fabric piece is sensed and that information is used to control the movement of a curable polymer dispenser. The dispenser applies a curable polymer from the curable polymer dispenser onto the cut fabric piece in the desired configuration after which the polymer is cured. If the fabric is cotton, the curable polymer is drawn into the cotton fibers prior to cure. The flow of curable polymer from the dispensing head can be started and stopped as the dispensing head moves relative to the fabric, allowing the curable polymer to be deposited on the fabric in any configuration. | 02-19-2009

Crystal forms of 4-[6-methoxy-7(3-piperidin-1-yl-propoxy) quinazoline-4yl) piperazine-1-carboxylic acid (4-isopropoxyphenyl)-amide - Crystalline forms of the sulfate salt of 4-[6-methoxy-7-(3-piperidin-1-yl-propoxy)quinazolin-4-yl]piperazine-1-carboxylic acid (4-isopropoxyphenyl)-amide, which may be used in pharmaceutical applications, are disclosed. Particular single crystalline forms of the sulfate salt are characterized by a variety of properties and physical measurements. As well, methods of producing the sulfate salts, and using such salts to inhibit excessive tyrosine kinase activity in subjects to treat a number of diseases including cardiovascular disease (e.g., arteriosclerosis and vascular reobstruction), cancer (e.g., leukemia such as acute lymphocytic leukemia), glomerulosclerosis fibrotic diseases and inflammation, and general treatment of cell-proliferative diseases, are also discussed. | 07-15-2010

MICROREACTOR - Chemical and biological reactors, including microreactors, are provided. Exemplary reactors include a plurality of reactors operable in parallel, where each reactor has a small volume and, together, the reactors produce a large volume of product. Reaction systems can include mixing chambers, heating/dispersion units, reaction chambers, and separation units. Components of the reactors can be readily formed from a variety of materials. For example, they can be etched from silicon. Components are connectable to and separable from each other to form a variety of types of reactors, and the reactors can be attachable to and separable from each other to add significant flexibility in parallel and/or series reactor operation. | 11-05-2009
