20100145082 | METHOD FOR PROCESSING COALESCENCE-INHIBITED EMULSIONS FROM WHOLE-CELL BIOTRANSFORMATIONS WITH COMPRESSED OR SUPERCRITICAL GASES,IN PARTICULAR WITH CARBON DIOXIDE - The method presented represents a possibility for separating emulsions derived from whole-cell biotransformations, which method makes it possible to effectively separate stable emulsions derived from typical biocatalytic two-phase processes that result in connection with such a biotransformation, by means of at least one compressed or supercritical gas. In this connection, a supercritical extraction to obtain the valuable product can follow directly, because of the use of compressed or supercritical gas as the separation agent. It is unimportant, in this connection, whether the valuable product is present in the aqueous or the organic phase. Recycling of the organic phase is possible, since the surfactant cell components, which are decisively responsible for the formation of the stable emulsion, can be separated off by means of sedimentation, because of the treatment. The separation that is achieved remains in existence even after the compressed or supercritical gas has gassed out, so that aside from extraction, other methods for product isolation can also follow, if this is necessary. In this connection, the invention contains tremendous potential for industrial use of biocatalytical two-phase processes, which are of great interest economically and ecologically. | 06-10-2010 |

20090072921 | Polar Modulation Without Analog Filtering - This disclosure relates to systems and methods for polar modulation without analog filters. Digitals filters, a second order hold interpolator and a reconfigurable third order noise shaper can be used instead of the analog filters used in conventional polar modulators. The polar modulator receives either receives the input in polar coordinates or converts the signal into polar phase and amplitude components. The phase and amplitude components are processed separately using digital signal processing components including digital filters, PLL, interpolator and noise shaper. The processed phase and amplitude components are then mixed to generate the modulated signal. | 03-19-2009 |

20080226008 | Providing Accurate Time-Based Counters for Scaling Operating Frequencies of Microprocessors - The illustrative embodiments provide accurate time-based counters for scaling operating frequencies of microprocessors. A time-based counter circuit configuration in which a fixed frequency clock is derived from a PLL of the clock generation circuit of the microprocessor and is used to feed the external and internal timebase logic as well as a timebase accumulator counter. The timebase accumulator counter accumulates the tick events from the timebase logic between two core clocks. The accumulated value is transferred to the core clock domain on every clock edge of a scalable clock and the accumulator is then reset. Because the accumulated ticks are transferred to the core clock domain before the accumulator is reset, no ticks are ever lost using the circuitry of the illustrative embodiment. | 09-18-2008 |

20160123136 | Method and Device for Measuring Pressure Exerted by Earth Material - A method for measuring pressure exerted by earth material includes: providing a pipe with a longitudinal bore defining an inner diameter, providing a device with sensors to sense said inner diameter, wherein the device is to be moved within the pipe along the longitudinal bore, while a measurement of the inner diameter is taken in a first transversal direction at one longitudinal position of the pipe. Then a measurement of the inner diameter in a second transversal direction at the predetermined longitudinal position is taken, wherein the second transversal direction is oriented differently to the first transversal direction. Finally, an ovalization of the pipe is derived at that predetermined longitudinal position of the pipe through subtracting a diameter value of the first transversal direction from a diameter value of the second transversal direction. | 05-05-2016 |
