20120045828 | Apparatus for Magnetic Separation of Cells - Described here is an automated robotic device that isolates circulating tumor cells (CTCs) or other biological structures with extremely high purity. The device uses powerful magnetic rods covered in removable plastic sleeves. These rods sweep through blood samples, capturing, e.g., cancer cells labeled with antibodies linked to magnetically responsive particles such as superparamagnetic beads. Upon completion of the capturing protocol, the magnetic rods undergo several rounds of washing, thereby removing all contaminating blood cells. The captured target cells are released into a final capture solution by removing the magnetic rods from the sleeves. Additionally, cells captured by this device show no reduced viability when cultured after capture. Cells are captured in a state suitable for genetic analysis. Also disclosed are methods for single cell analysis. Being robotic allows the device to be operated with high throughput. | 02-23-2012 |

20140359653 | Systems, Methods, and Computer Program Products for Providing Video-Passwords For User Authentication - This invention is related to authentication schemes utilizing advertising video-passwords, which require the user to watch and remember parts of a given advertisement video. Different embodiments of the invention can utilize just time reference point information, or can optionally include grid element, click point, tag phrase, or a combination of both click point and tag phrase information. A reference video-password is defined based on the time reference point information, and optionally with grid element, click point, or tag phrase information. Subsequently, the user will attempt authentication and the candidate video-password will be defined with the associated time reference point determined from the user's input, and optionally with grid element, click point, or tag phrase information received from the user. The system would then authenticate the user based on the comparison result between the reference video-password and the candidate video-password. | 12-04-2014 |

20110193589 | On-Chip Sensor For Measuring Dynamic Power Supply Noise Of The Semiconductor Chip - An on-chip sensor measures dynamic power supply noise, such as voltage droop, on a semiconductor chip. In-situ logic is employed, which is sensitive to noise present on the power supply of functional logic of the chip. Exemplary functional logic includes a microprocessor, adder, and/or other functional logic of the chip. The in-situ logic performs some operation, and the amount of time required for performing that operation (i.e., the operational delay) is sensitive to noise present on the power supply. Thus, by evaluating the operational delay of the in-situ logic, the amount of noise present on the power supply can be measured. | 08-11-2011 |

20140253279 | COUPLED DISCRETE INDUCTOR WITH FLUX CONCENTRATION USING HIGH PERMEABLE MATERIAL - Some implementations provide a coupled inductor structure that includes a first discrete inductor configured to generate a magnetic field, a second discrete inductor, and a first ferromagnetic layer coupled to the first discrete inductor and the second discrete inductor. The first ferromagnetic layer is configured to concentrate the magnetic field generated by the first discrete inductor within the coupled inductor structure. In some implementations, the coupled inductor structure further includes a second ferromagnetic layer coupled to the first discrete inductor and the second discrete inductor. The second ferromagnetic layer is configured to concentrate the magnetic field generated by the first discrete inductor within the coupled inductor structure. In some implementations, the coupled inductor structure is a bifilar inductor structure. The first discrete inductor includes a first set of windings and the second discrete inductor includes a second set of windings. The first and second discrete inductors share a common core. | 09-11-2014 |

20130334218 | MICROWAVE HEATING WITH SUSCEPTOR - There is disclosed a method of heating a wafer for bonding, the method comprising adding a patterned susceptor close to a wafer interface, and applying microwave energy to the patterned susceptor. There is also disclosed an electrically conductive film, in direct contact with a relatively non-conductive substrate (preferably a thermoplastic) and made of individual electrically isolated elements (features) with a maximum dimension less than ΒΌ the wavelength used in the microwave, and minimum dimension greater than 100 um in the plane of the film. The film and substrate is selectively heated by resistive loss caused by dissipated energy from microwave radiation. | 12-19-2013 |

20130115364 | RESIN-INFILTRATED CERAMICS - Porous ceramic materials, including dental prostheses, may be infiltrated by a solution comprising resin monomers and a solvent for lowering viscosity of the solution. Infiltration may be achieved by providing the ceramic and the solution in a low pressure environment, followed by a polymerizing process whereby the resin is cross-linked within the pores of the ceramic. The solvent may be removed, for example, to leave substantially only the polymerized resin within the ceramic. | 05-09-2013 |
