20100135964TISSUE GRAFTING METHOD - The tissue grafting method relates to a tissue graft material, a method of preparing the material, and a method of using the material. The tissue graft material is made from the tunica serosa of the small intestine of a warm-blooded vertebrate, which has been delaminated from the tunica muscularis, tunica submucosa, and the tunica mucosa of the intestinal tissue. The tissue graft material may be perforated by discrete punctures. The tissue graft material is dehydrated by air drying or vacuum drying, sterilized with ethylene oxide, and stored in a hermetically sealed enclosure at room temperature until needed, having an indefinite storage life. When needed, the tissue graft material is rehydrated, cut to match the size of the wound, and applied to the wound. The graft may be overlaid with nylon mesh, or bandaged with an elastic tubular dressing.06-03-2010

20110220840Fluid Viscosity and Heat Transfer Via Optimized Energizing of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube-Based Fluids - In select embodiments of the present invention, a method for optimizing thermal transfer capacity of a fluid employs multi-walled carbon nano-tubes (MWCNTs) and a surfactant such as Gum Arabic (GA), that are mixed into a fluid, such as water, according to a specific protocol and energized via ultrasound until a specified amount of total energy is applied. For select embodiments, the maximum demonstrated enhancement of an aqueous fluid in thermal conductivity is 20% and in convective heat Transfer is 32%. The thermal conductivity enhancement increased considerably at bulk temperatures greater than 24° C. The percentage enhancement in convective heat transfer in a tube increases with axial distance. The resultant optimized fluid is also described.09-15-2011

20100152499CONVERSION OF A MULTIHYDROXYLATED-ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBON OR ESTER THEREOF TO A CHLOROHYDRIN - The present invention relates to a process for converting at least one multihydroxylated-aliphatic hydrocarbon and/or an ester thereof to at least one chlorohydrin and/or an ester thereof, comprising at least one reaction step in which the multihydroxylated-aliphatic hydrocarbon and/or ester thereof is contacted with hydrogen chloride under reaction conditions to produce the chlorohydrin and/or ester thereof, followed by at least one downstream processing step in which the effluents of the reaction step are processed, wherein the downstream processing step is performed in such conditions that the effluents containing the chlorohydrin and/or ester thereof are kept at a temperature of less than 12O° C. The invention allows to minimize the liberation of hydrogen chloride from the products of the hydrochlorination reaction, hence reducing the corrosion of the downstream equipment and reducing M the need to use costly corrosion resistant materials.06-17-2010
