20080237494CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM FOR PROTON BEAM THERAPY SYSTEM - In a complex, multi-processor software controlled system, such as proton beam therapy system (PBTS), it may be important to provide treatment configurable parameters that are easily modified by an authorized user to prepare the software controlled systems for various modes of operation. This particular invention relates to a configuration management system for the PBTS that utilizes a database to maintain data and configuration parameters and also to generate and distribute system control files that can be used by the PBTS for treatment delivery. The use of system control files reduces the adverse effects of single point failures in the database by allowing the PBTS to function independently from the database. The PBTS accesses the data, parameters, and control settings from the database through the system control files, which insures that the data and configuration parameters are accessible when and if single point failures occur with respect to the database.10-02-2008
20080270517PROTON BEAM THERAPY CONTROL SYSTEM - A tiered communications architecture for managing network traffic in a distributed system. Communication between client or control computers and a plurality of hardware devices is administered by agent and monitor devices whose activities are coordinated to reduce the number of open channels or sockets. The communications architecture also improves the transparency and scalability of the distributed system by reducing network mapping dependence. The architecture is desirably implemented in a proton beam therapy system to provide flexible security policies which improve patent safety and facilitate system maintenance and development.10-30-2008

20100183957Method of Patterned Media Template Formation and Templates - Aspects include methods to produce pattern media templates and the templates. A pattern of resist structures is formed on a first material layer. A conformal layer of a second material is deposited on the resist pattern, covering tops and side walls of the resist structures. The first material is more resistant to ion milling than the second material, and less resistant to plasma etching than the second material. The first material can be amorphous carbon and the second material can be aluminum oxide. The second material is removed on the tops, and preserved on the side walls. The resist structures and portions of the first layer not supporting second layer material are removed by plasma. The remaining structure is 2× denser than the resist pattern. Conformal deposition of second material and ion milling can be repeated. CMP removes the second material down to a portion of remaining first material, and remaining first material is removed by plasma, leaving a 4× denser pitch pattern structure formed from the second material.07-22-2010

20090006380System and Method for Tracking Database Disclosures - A system and method is provided for identifying the source of an unauthorized database disclosure. The system and method stores a plurality of past database queries and determines the relevance of the results of the past database queries (query results) to a sensitive table containing the unauthorized disclosed data. The system and method also ranks the past database queries based on the determined relevance. A list of the most relevant past database queries can then be generated which are ranked according to the relevance, such that the highest ranked queries on the list are most similar to said disclosed data. Three techniques used in embodiments of the invention include partial tuple matching, statistical linkage and deviation probability gain.01-01-2009

20090064343ACCESS CONTROL METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR PRIVACY PROTECTION - A method for protecting information in a distributed stream processing system, including: assigning a principal label to a processing component; assigning a first channel label to a first communication channel that is input to the processing component; comparing the principal label to the first channel label to determine if the processing component can read data attributes of the first channel label; and reading the data attributes of the first channel label when the principal label is equal to or has precedence over the first channel label, wherein the principal label includes a read label and a write label and at least one of a selection label, an addition label or a suppression label.03-05-2009
20100242120Mitigating and managing privacy risks using planning - System and methods are provided for managing and mitigating privacy risks in a system having a network of processing elements. According to one method, there is receive a request for at least one output product from the system. The request includes a set of privacy parameters. At least one set of workflow generating strategies are created that results in the output product having a privacy risk value below a predefined threshold. At least one of the workflow generating strategies is deployed for automatically producing the at least one output product.09-23-2010
