20150290773 | Abrasive Product Coated with Agglomerated Particles Formed in Situ and Method of Making the Same - The present invention relates to a coated abrasive article containing abrasive agglomerates based on target cores that provide an extended surface. Target cores are defined as geometric shapes, e.g., spherical, rectangular, tetrahedral, conical, cylindrical, pyramidal or combinations and mixtures thereof. The preferred cores are porous structures with their own abrasive capacity as a grinding aid element. They are bonded on substrates, e.g., textile fabrics, plastic films, saturated or no treated papers, vulcanized fibers, non-wovens and mixtures thereof to produce extended surfaces on which are deposited the working abrasive particles, e.g., aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, zirconia alumina, ceramic aluminum oxide and mixtures thereof, through an electrostatic field to improve performance capabilities. The electrostatic field promotes orientation of the deposited grains around the cores with exposed sharp edges over the extended area, causing as a secondary effect the compacting of the abrasive grains. The abrasive grains are agglomerated in situ via nucleation of the surface of the target cores during the coated abrasive manufacturing process. Incorporation of the abrasive particles on the interstices between target cores also produces increased life of the coated abrasive article. The invention includes the method of manufacturing the abrasive article by forming the agglomerated particles in situ during the manufacturing process. | 10-15-2015 |

20150200615 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF EXCITATION AND GENERATOR SYSTEMS - A system includes an excitation system. The excitation system includes a memory configured to store an adaptive power system stabilizer (PSS) system configured to dynamically stabilize the operation of a generator system, and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and configured to utilize the adaptive PSS system according to a value for one or more operational parameters of the generator system. The derived value is applied by the processor to operate the generator system when the generator system exhibits oscillations at least one of a plurality of operating frequency ranges associated with an oscillation of a power angle of the generator system. The derived value is configured to attenuate the oscillation of the power angle over the at least one of the plurality of interval operating frequency ranges. | 07-16-2015 |

20140373017 | SOFTWARE BUS - The present invention relates to the field of methods of communication between software modules and more particularly software buses. There is described a software bus which allows communication between software modules. This communication occurs within a machine and between machines and operates interchangeably for the software module whether one is dealing with a process, a thread or a simple task. The communication relies on mechanisms adapted to the multitask level at which the sender and receiver software modules operate. It is based on a hierarchical architecture, phases of discovery and of recording of the various software modules having to communicate via the bus. | 12-18-2014 |

20110190816 | INTERSPINOUS SPACER WITH DEPLOYABLE MEMBERS AND RELATED METHOD - The present teachings provide one or more surgical implements for repairing damaged tissue, such as in the case of spinal stenosis. An implant for insertion between adjacent spinous processes is provided. The implant can include a body having a first end, a second end and defining a bore. The implant can include a first cap coupled to the first end of the body, a second cap coupled to the second end of the body, with each of the caps defining a space. The implant can include a connector coupled to the first cap and the second cap through the bore. The implant can include at least one deployable member coupled to the first end of the body and the first cap. The at least one deployable member can be retained within the first space in a first position, and can extend from the first space in a second position. | 08-04-2011 |
