20090219602MAGNETO-OPTO PHOTONIC CRYSTAL MULTIPLAYER STRUCTURE HAVING ENHANCED FARADAY ROTATION WITH VISIBLE LIGHT - An apparatus, method, system, and computer-program product for producing magneto-optic materials in the blue and green wavelengths. The apparatus includes a substrate generally transparent to a light signal including a component at a predetermined visible frequency; a stack of optical multilayers overlying the substrate for transmitting the component with at least about forty percent power therethrough and having at least about twenty-four degrees of Faraday rotation per micron for the predetermined visible frequency less than about six hundred nanometers. The method includes processes for the manufacture and assembly of the disclosed materials, with the computer program product including machine-executable instructions for carrying out the disclosed methods.09-03-2009
20110019957MAGNETO-OPTO MICRO-RING RESONATOR AND SWITCH - An apparatus, method, system, and computer-program product for magneto-optic (MO) switching produces magneto-optic materials in blue and green light wavelengths. An MO switching apparatus includes a first waveguide supporting a propagation of a radiation signal from a first port to a second port; a second waveguide including a second port; and a ring-oscillator having a closed propagation pathway including magneto-optic materials, said ring-oscillator operationally coupled to said waveguides and responsive to a controlling influence to switch between a first mode and a second mode, with said first mode substantially non-interfering with said propagation of said radiation signal in said first waveguide and with said second mode routing said propagation of said radiation signal from said first port to said second port.01-27-2011

20100014806OPTICAL CONNECTION COMPONENT - The present invention provides an optical connection component which comprises a solid state laser component for emitting a modulated beam of light in response to an applied electrical signal. The optical connection component also comprises an optical lens positioned relative to the solid state laser component at a predetermined position in which the optical lens reduces divergence of the emitted beam of light. The optical lens is formed at the predetermined position in a manner such that the optical lens is immobile relative to the solid state laser component. The optical connection component further comprises an optical waveguide having a core for guiding the light. The optical waveguide has first and second end-portions. The first end-portion is positioned for coupling the modulated light from the optical lens into the core. In addition, the optical connection component comprises a receiver for receiving the modulated light from the second end-portion of the optical waveguide and arranged for converting the modulated light into a corresponding electrical signal.01-21-2010
