20080238510Low leakage state retention circuit - In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes an apparatus comprising a low leakage latch to store a state of a circuit during inactive periods. The state is transferred to the low leakage latch upon receipt of an inactive pulse. A buffer is used to receive the state from an output of the low leakage latch and to isolate the state. State restore circuitry is used to restore the state to the circuit when the circuit returns to an active mode. The state restore circuitry is used to receive the isolated state and to restore the state upon receipt of an active pulse.10-02-2008

20080285703SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING AN INDICATION OF THE INTEGRITY OF A DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE - An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a device and a counter system coupled thereto. The counter system provides an indication of a number of times the device is inserted into a slot. Through the use of the device disclosed above, a history and a number of insertions of a particular device within a system can be known and therefore it can be determined if the integrity of the device is threatened.11-20-2008
20090134382MULTILEVEL LOGIC BALLISTIC DEFLECTION TRANSISTOR - A multilevel logic transistor including a ballistic channel, the ballistic channel formed in a substrate layer and configured to receive a flow of electrons generated by an emitter, a deflection barrier, the deflection barrier comprising at least two deflection surfaces and a deflection channel, and a deflection controller, the deflection controller configured to generate an electrical biasing field for directing the flowed of electrons, wherein the deflection barrier is positioned in the ballistic channel such that the deflection barrier is in the path of the received electrons. The multilevel logic transistor can further include an electron spin controller configured to generate a particular spin on each electron in the flow of electrons.05-28-2009

20100034068PROTECTED STORAGE OF DATA ON OPTICALLY-READABLE MEDIA - Protection is provided for optically readable media. Data may be scrambled, encrypted, or otherwise obscured by apportioning the data across multiple layers of a disc in a secret pattern. Pattern information may be supplied in the form of a key to authorized devices or users. The data can only be read by an optical drive with the proper hardware having access to this key. Switchable mirrored regions are provided on the optical medium to selectively block and unblock an optical reader head from reading the data. To read the data back, an authorized/licensed device may use the key to selectively switch the electrochromic regions so that the reader head may access the data while alternately focusing on different data layers, as needed, to obtain the data in the proper order.02-11-2010
