20110240326Hermetically Sealed Vacuum Container For Fluorescence Emitting Tube - An anode substrate constituted of a conductive film forming substrate and a reinforcing substrate having different thermal expansion coefficient and being bonded together by the arrangement of adhesive layers is disclosed. The substrate can prevent creation of cracks on the conductive film forming substrate when heating and cooling the anode substrate. The adhesive layers are arranged at an interval, each of the adhesive layers being formed into a shape selected from a group consisting of a rectangular strip shape and a curved strip shape. The adhesive layers are arranged in a pattern to be symmetry with respect to a center line of the arrangement of the adhesive layers extending perpendicular to a line connecting both longitudinal ends of the arrangement of the adhesive layer. Furthermore, the adhesive layers include an outer adhesive portion located outward among remaining adhesive layers, and the outer adhesive layers are arranged shorter than the remaining adhesive layers.10-06-2011

20090060294HUMAN IMAGE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM - In a similar face retrieval system for retrieving an image photographing a face similar to a face detected from a retrieval query image from a retrieval target image group by using an image photographing a human face as the retrieval query image, whole image features as features representative of background information are extracted from each whole area of an each image of a retrieval target image group, to calculate a degree of similarity through comparison with each set of whole image features, and an image having a degree of similarity not lower than a certain value and having a lower retrieval result order from retrieval results. It is possible to efficiently retrieve the same person playing in different scenes by utilizing different features for a retrieval process and a filtering process.03-05-2009
20090185784VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD USING IP-BASED NETWORKS - A technique capable of preventing an increase in the load of a system and a IP-based network that perform both a process of transmitting information in real time and a process of storing and searching history information and of improving the scalability of the system. A video surveillance system includes: plural cameras that capture images; a monitoring apparatus that displays the images captured by the cameras; an information generating apparatus that generates information for searching the images captured by the cameras; and a search apparatus that searches the images captured by the cameras. The information generating apparatus acquires the images captured by the cameras, generates retrieval data from the acquired images, and transmits the generated retrieval data to the search apparatus. The search apparatus stores the retrieval data received from the information generating apparatus in a storage device, and notifies the monitoring apparatus that the retrieval data has been stored.07-23-2009

20090041808Detection/Measurement Of Malaria Infection Disease Utilizing Natural Immunity By Hemozoin Induction, Screening Of Preventative Or Therapeutic Medicine For Malaria Infection Disease, And Regulation Of Natural Immunity Induction - The instant invention is to provide a method for detecting and measuring malaria infection utilizing the induction by hemozoin (HZ); a method for screening a vaccine for malaria infection and a preventative or therapeutic agent for malaria infection using the method for detecting and measuring; and a means for regulating the induction of innate immunity using the HZ, synthetic HZ, or derivatives thereof as an adjuvant or immunostimulant. Malaria infection is detected and measured of by detecting and measuring HZ-induced, TLR9-mediated, and MyD88-dependent innate immune activity. The detection and measurement of malaria infection can be used to diagnose malaria infection. The method for detecting and measuring is also used for screening a vaccine for malaria infection and a preventative or therapeutic agent for malaria infection. Further, HZ, synthetic HZ, or derivatives thereof are used as an adjuvant or immunostimulant to regulate HZ-induced innate immune induction.02-12-2009
20090158447TLR ligand and IL-1 Response-Injured Animal Model - The present invention provides a TLR ligand/IL-1 response-impaired non-human animal model wherein IL-6 production responding to a TLR ligand/IL-1 is impaired, a method for screening a substance promoting or suppressing a response to a TLR ligand/IL-1 by using the TLR ligand/IL-1 response-impaired non-human animal model, and a method for screening a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis-like inflammatory skin disease. A non-human animal model unresponsive to a TLR ligand/IL-1 is generated wherein whole or a part of an endogenous gene of the non-human animal encoding IκB-ζ is inactivated by a gene mutation such as destruction, deletion, or substitution, a function of expressing IκB-ζ is deleted, and a IL-6 production responding to a TLR ligand and IL-1 is impaired. Moreover, the promoter or suppressor for a TLR ligand/IL-1 response and the prophylactic/therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis-like inflammatory skin disease are screened by using the non-human animal and a test substance.06-18-2009
20090263413IMMUNOSTIMULATORY OLIGONUCLEOTIDES AND USE THEREOF IN PHARMACEUTICALS - A novel immunostimulatory oligonucleotide by which an IFN-inducing activity is enhanced and an inflammatory cytokine-inducing activity is reduced, and a pharmaceutical containing the same, and an application thereof are provided. That is, the present invention provides the immunostimulatory oligonucleotide composed of a base sequence represented by a formula: 5′-(G)10-22-2009
20100092943SCREENING METHOD WITH THE USE OF TBK1 KNOCKOUT MOUSE - The present invention provides a method for screening inductive promoting substances of anti-viral proteins such as IFN-β against LPS stimulation or viral infection by using TBK1 knockout mice, or the tissues or cells derived therefrom. The present invention also provides a method for screening substances promoting responses against LPS stimulation or viral infection which may comprise the steps of measuring/estimating the induction level of anti-viral proteins such as IFN-β against ligands recognized by TLR4 or substances containing thereof in mice wherein a part or a whole of TANK binding kinase-1 (TBK1) genes on its chromosome is deleted and is lacking the function to express TBK1 which is expressed in wild-type, or the tissues or cells derived therefrom; by using the mice, or the tissues or cells derived therefrom, a test substance, and the ligands recognized by TLR4 or substances containing thereof.04-15-2010
