20100324835METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SECURELY STORING DATA - A system for providing secure access to mechanical data associated with the mechanical properties of a concrete mass. The system includes a logger associated with the concrete mass and having at least one sensor adapted to measure physical properties of the concrete mass and generate sensor data indicative of the physical properties of the concrete mass. The logger also has a microprocessor adapted to receive the sensor data and calculate mechanical data associated with the concrete mass and an outbound data transfer device. The system includes a reader adapted to receive the mechanical data associated with the concrete mass from the outbound data transfer device of the logger. Lastly, the system includes a computer receiving the mechanical data from the reader and distributing the mechanical data to one or more users via the Internet, a world-wide network of information sharing computers, or using the world-wide web.12-23-2010

20090250395Wastewater Treatment System - Wastewater treatment systems are disclosed with improved aeration tanks. The improved aeration tank includes an inverted frusto-conical clarifier and a submersible aerator pump disposed between the bottom of the aeration tank and the interior of the clarifier. The aerator pump is connected to an air inlet line that can pass downward through the clarifier and a plurality of bubble outlet lines that extend outward from the pump both radially and tangentially towards the sidewall of the aeration tank. As a result, bubbles rise upward through the aeration space disposed outside of the clarifier and around the aeration space or around the clarifier for improved mixing. The system may also include additional tanks such as a pretreatment tank and pump tank which are designed with baffled sidewalls for anchoring purposes. The vertical slopes of the sidewalls of the pretreatment and pump tanks are of the same magnitude but opposite to the vertical slope of the sidewall of the aeration tank thereby enabling the sidewalls of the pretreatment and aeration tank to nest together and the sidewalls of the pump and aeration tank to nest together. Methods of retrofitting existing water treatment systems and methods of treating wastewater are also disclosed.10-08-2009

20100013699Vehicular Traffic Surveillance Doppler Radar System - A vehicular traffic surveillance Doppler radar system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system comprises a modulation circuit portion for generating modulated FM signals. An antenna circuit portion transmits the modulated FM signals to a target and receives the reflected modulated FM signals therefrom. A ranging circuit portion performs a quadrature demodulation on the reflected modulated FM signals and determines a range measurement based upon phase angle measurements derived therefrom.01-21-2010

20090002221Traffic Alert Police Radar - An enhanced police Doppler direction sensing radar detects possibly dangerous traffic conditions during certain vehicle maneuvers such as U-turns and returns to travel after roadside stops. By monitoring a host or primary vehicle speed, speed transitions, transmission state (e.g. gear selection), and the closing vehicle position, range and speed, a number of selectable conditions are detected, resulting in an alert indication to a primary vehicle operator. User preferences and thresholds allow the traffic alert function to be customized according to a primary vehicle operator's desire to suppress alerts in situations which the user does not deem dangerous. The traffic alert function may be automatically triggered under certain detected conditions, or manually initiated when the primary vehicle operator intends to make a driving maneuver.01-01-2009

20100051696ILLUMINATION SYSTEM FOR A BAR CODE READER - A method and apparatus for illuminating a target object such as a bar code having areas of differing light intensity on the target. A bar code reader has a light source that is selectively activated, a screen having a slit aperture for creating a narrow light beam, a reflecting mirror for reflecting light transmitted through the slit aperture and a lens for shaping light reflected by the mirror to form an elongated target/illumination pattern.03-04-2010
20100147947Arrangement for and method of controlling image exposure in an imaging reader - An arrangement for, and a method of, controlling image exposure in an imaging reader for reading symbols, employ an illuminating light assembly for illuminating a symbol with illumination light, a solid-state imager for capturing return light from the symbol over a field of view, and a controller for successively exposing the imager over a first exposure time period to capture the return light from, and to optimally image, a first area of the symbol, and over a second exposure time period to capture the return light from, and to optimally image, a second area of the symbol. The first and the second areas have different light intensity levels. The first and the second exposure time periods are different in duration. The controller is operative for combining the optimally imaged first and second areas to read the symbol.06-17-2010

20100078480METHOD OF POSITIONING THE BARCODE - A method of associating a barcode with a product that has a product body with a round ending section. The method includes positioning the barcode repetitively along a circle sharing a common center with an outer-ring of the round ending section. A method of reading such a barcode on such a product includes positioning at least a portion of the round ending section of the product within a field of view of a barcode reader such that a complete barcode can be construed from a portion of a first instance of the barcode and a portion of the second distance of the barcode.04-01-2010
