20080276130DISTRIBUTED LOGGING APPARATUS SYSTEM AND METHOD - An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for distributed logging. Operating entities and associations between operating entities are registered in a registry by a logging entity registrar. An event notification monitor recognizes operating errors in operating entities. An aggregation module aggregates operating logs from sets of associated entities, which are then stored by a log set recorder.11-06-2008
20090208017VALIDATION OF ENCRYPTION KEY - A label corresponding to a cryptographic key is stored at a first computational device. A user provided label is received at a second computational device. The user provided label is sent from the second computational device to the first computational device. The user provided label is compared to the label stored at the first computational device. The cryptographic key is used to perform cryptographic operations on data, in response to determining that the user provided label matches the label stored at the first computational device.08-20-2009

20100046958System and Method For Reducing Memory Requirements For Electrical Domain Compensation of Intra-Channel Nonlinearity In An Optical Communications System - A digital filter is provided for processing an electrical input signal to be conveyed through an optical communications system. The processing generates a predistorted electrical signal using a compensation function that substantially mitigates for intra-channel non-linearity imparted to the communications signal by the optical communications system. The digital filter has a memory having a limited size storing a reduced data set used for approximating an original, unreduced data set used to implement the compensation function. The reduced data set is used for the digital filter to apply the compensation function to mitigate the intra-channel non-linearity over longer transmission distances of the optical communications system than would be possible without the use of the reduced data set.02-25-2010

20110263208Cognitive radio sensing method and system - The cognitive radio system and method uses a wideband chirp signal. A cognitive radio base station broadcasts the low power reference wideband chirp signal with bandwidth covering the sensed spectrum. At the receiver, a Fast Fourier Transform is applied to the output of a chirp signal matched filter. The filter output is fed to decision circuitry, where a threshold value is set to decide the minimum spike's amplitude to determine frequencies utilized by primary users. Using reference chirp signal and its matched filter eases sensing computational complexity and improves the quality of sensing, thereby offering enhanced cognition at the CR receiver.10-27-2011

20110019366EMBEDDED COMMUNICATION ENCLOSURE - Disclosed is an embedded communication enclosure for housing and supporting communication devices and communication cables, comprising: an enclosure body; a cable connecting member, provided within said enclosure body to connect communication cables, where an input cable from the exterior of the enclosure body is connected to a plurality of distribution cables to be brought out of the enclosure body; and a first door connected with the enclosure body, for opening and closing the front of the enclosure body, said first door comprising a second door embedded therein to provide access to the cable connecting member; wherein said cable connecting member is arranged to correspond to said second door in such a manner that said cable connecting member is exposed to outside when said second door is opened. With the embedded communication enclosure, a two-stage stage operating interface is achieved, so that communication devices and cables housed in the embedded communication enclosure will not be undesirably influenced or accessed during frequently changing and maintaining terminal jumpers.01-27-2011

20090252643METAL TREATMENT TO ELIMINATE HOT TEAR DEFECTS IN LOW SILICON ALUMINUM ALLOYS - An aluminum alloy and a method of casting. At least one of zirconium, scandium, a nucleating agent selected from the group consisting of metal carbides, aluminides and borides, and rare earth elements are added to the alloy while in the molten state such that upon solidification, the cast alloy exhibits improved hot tear resistance. In a particular form, the nucleating agent may be titanium diboride for grain refining. Other agents that can be used for grain refining include scandium, zirconium, silicon, silver and one or more rare earth elements. In the case of rare earth elements, mischmetal may be used as a precursor. Combinations of titanium diboride and at least one other agent are especially effective in reducing the incidence of hot tearing in products cast from the modified aluminum alloy.10-08-2009

20090235358SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ATTACHING A VIRTUAL MACHINE VIRTUAL HARD DISK TO A HOST MACHINE - Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for “attaching” a virtual hard drive to the physical computer hardware by implementing a specialized disk controller driver for the host operating system that is recognized by the host operating system as a disk controller driver but which in fact also emulates the virtual hard disk it is “attached” to. When the host operating system sends requests to read and write sectors from the virtual hard drive, the specialized driver (the “virtual hard drive controller driver”) directly accesses and manipulates the back-end file mentioned above. Thus the virtual disk is “attached” and recognizable by the host operating system and can be manipulated thereby (and applications executing thereon).09-17-2009
20100146127USER-MODE BASED REMOTE DESKTOP PROTOCOL (RDP) ENCODING ARCHITECTURE - Techniques are disclosed for a user-mode based remote desktop protocol (RDP) encoding architecture. A user mode desktop application and user mode virtual channel application run in user-mode session space. Virtual channel data from the virtual channel application is marshaled and sent to a RDP encoder process in user-mode system space. There it is converted to RDP protocol data units (PDU) and sent to a remote client across a communications network. Graphics data from the desktop application is sent to a display driver in kernel-mode session space and then to a graphics reflector that marshals the graphics data and sends it to the RDP encoder for a similar transformation.06-10-2010
