20110297084Apparatus for Direct Fabrication of Nanostructures - An all-additive apparatus for direct fabrication of nanometer-scale planar and multilayer structures that performs “pick-and-place” retrieval and deposition of materials comprises a tip and a controller and transport mechanism configured for causing the tip to acquire a transferable material and deposit at least a portion of the acquired transferable material at a predetermined location onto a substrate, without the use of a bridging medium, in order to directly assemble a structure. The tip may be submillimeter-scale, may comprise a plurality of sub-tips disposed in a predetermined arrangement, and/or may mechanically vibrate. Mechanical vibration of the tip may be monitored. The tip may acquire the transferable material from a reservoir. The assembled structure may be cured on the substrate.12-08-2011

20100201870System and method for frame interpolation for a compressed video bitstream - A system and a method perform frame interpolation for a compressed video bitstream. The system and the method may combine candidate pictures to generate an interpolated video picture inserted between two original video pictures. The system and the method may generate the candidate pictures from different motion fields. The candidate pictures may be generated partially or wholly from motion vectors extracted from the compressed video bitstream. The system and the method may reduce computation required for interpolation of video frames without a negative impact on visual quality of a video sequence.08-12-2010

20100043081Detecting and Revoking Pirate Redistribution of Content - Disclosed are methods, systems and articles for tracing and disabling one or more unauthorized distributors of content originally transmitted by a distribution center. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving rebroadcast transmissions of a data segment previously transmitted by the distribution center, the received segment including embedded information associated with a subset of recipients that includes at least one of the unauthorized distributors, and identifying the subset based on the embedded information. The method further includes assigning recipients in the identified subset into two or more new subsets such that the at least one unauthorized distributor is assigned to one of the two or more new subsets, and coding a subsequent data segment to be transmitted with additional embedded information associated with the two or more new subsets. The above operations may be repeated until the at least unauthorized distributor is identified.02-18-2010
