20080279667Tow truck with underlift control - A vehicle includes a chassis and an underlift supported by the chassis. The underlift includes a boom including a vehicle engaging device coupled to the boom and a movement actuator for moving the boom. The underlift further includes a control system configured to restrict actuation of the movement actuator when the boom moves to a predetermined position; and an operator control coupled to the control system that allows the operator to control the movement actuator after actuation of the movement actuator has been restricted.11-13-2008
20090139947SYSTEM FOR MONITORING LOAD AND ANGLE FOR MOBILE LIFT DEVICE - A mobile lift device having a load moving device capable of engaging a load is provided. The mobile lift device includes one or more systems for stabilizing the mobile lift device during operation of the load moving device. According to one exemplary embodiment, the mobile lift device is a heavy duty wrecker having a rotatable boom assembly. The heavy duty wrecker comprises a monitoring system for stabilizing the wrecker during operation of the boom assembly. The monitoring system comprises a plurality of sensors and a monitoring circuit coupled to the sensors to generate a force signal representative of at least one force being applied to the wrecker based upon the transmitted signals.06-04-2009
20090285662SIDE RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE - A side recovery system is disclosed that includes a base configured to be supported on a vehicle and a boom supported by the base and having a first end and a second end. The boom is rotatable relative to the base about a substantially horizontal axis between a first position and second position. The second end of the boom being positioned at a first side of the vehicle in the first position and at an opposite second side of the vehicle in the second position. The system also includes a first sheave supported at the second end of the boom and configured to receive a load bearing cable. The cable configured to remain received by the first sheave as the boom rotates between the first position and the second position.11-19-2009

20100169285AUTOMATED GROUPING OF MESSAGES PROVIDED TO AN APPLICATION USING STRING SIMILARITY ANALYSIS - Messages which are provided to an application are monitored. Similarities between the messages are determined based on a distance algorithm, in one approach, and messages which are similar are assigned to a common group. For example, the messages may be HTTP messages which include a URL, HTTP header parameters and/or HTTP post parameters. The messages are parsed to derive a string which is used in the distance calculations. Additionally, application runtime data such as response times is obtained and aggregated for the group. Further, a representative message can be determined for each group for comparison to subsequent messages. Results can be reported which include a group identifier, representative message, count and aggregated runtime data.07-01-2010

20090031066CAPACITY PLANNING BY TRANSACTION TYPE - Capacity planning is performed based on expected transaction load and the resource utilization for each expected transaction. Resource usage is determined for one or more transactions or URLs based on transaction specific and non-transaction specific resource usage. Once the resource usage for each transaction is known, the expected resource usage may be determined for an expected quantity of each transaction. The actual resources needed to meet the expected resource usage are then determined. Resources may include hardware or software, such as a central processing unit, memory, hard disk bandwidth, network bandwidth, and other computing system components. The expected resource usage for a transaction may based on the usage directly related to the transaction and usage not directly related to the transaction but part of a process associated with the performed transactions.01-29-2009

20090288962Electrochemical Sensor and Methods for Making and Using Same - A mercury-free, electrochemical sensor is described that includes a self-assembled monolayer on a mesoporous support (SAMMS) composite and a fluoropolymer component that is deposited on a measurement surface. The SAMMS component provides outstanding metal preconcentration. The fluoropolymer component acts as an antifouling binder. The sensor can detect various metals at a low detection level in the presence of fouling agents and without sample pretreatment. The sensor is also able to detect mixtures of metals simultaneously with excellent single and inter-electrode reproducibility. Service lifetimes are excellent.11-26-2009
20100077837Porous Thin Film and Process for Analyte Preconcentration and Determination - A porous thin film and a method are disclosed. The film has a generally uniform thickness and includes fused silica particles that provide multiple types of pores in the film. Particles are generally uniformly distributed on a surface and have a generally open structure that provides the film with an open interface readily accessible to fluids. The film provides for preconcentration of, e.g., heavy metals in fluid and gas samples that provides for direct determination of the analytes.04-01-2010
20110110985FUNCTIONALIZED NANOMATERIALS FOR CHELATION THERAPIES AND SORBENT DIALYSIS OF TOXINS - A therapy agent is disclosed that is made up of a functionalized nanomaterial that provides solutions to current problems facing the field of chelation therapies and dialysis of metals, radionuclides, and metabolic wastes. Through the coupling of groups tailored to selectively capture specific toxins and rigid porous backbone structures (e.g., mesoporous silica and mesoporous carbon), suitable materials that are highly effective and fast at capturing toxins (metals, radionuclides, and metabolic wastes) in the presence of competing ions and proteins. These materials may be embodied in a variety of treatment devices which allow for treatment and removal of these target materials through a variety of methodologies including oral, dermal and dialysis pathways.05-12-2011
