20080310733 | FACADE RENDERING SYSTEM - A façade rendering system is described. In various embodiments, the façade rendering system identifies horizontal waveforms and vertical waveforms from an image of a structure, combines the identified horizontal and vertical waveforms to generate façade waveforms that model a façade of the structure, and renders the façade waveforms as a façade for the structure. The façade rendering system can include or employ information about the structure from which to create waveform information, waveform information to create a façade waveform for modeling the structure, and a component that renders the structure based on the waveform information. | 12-18-2008 |
20090304297 | IMAGE-GUIDED ABSTRACTION OF BUILDING FACADES - To reduce the amount of storage space and computing power required to render image data, particularly building image data, primary and secondary colors may be extracted from the image data. The image data may be re-rendered using only the primary and secondary colors. The re-rendered image may be evaluated for patterns, the patterns thresholded to bi-level data and a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), or equivalent, may be performed on the bi-level data. Low order coefficients may be discarded depending on level accuracy desired. DFT coefficients and color data for the primary and secondary colors may then be used to construct an abstraction of the original image data, using data that is, in some cases, three or four orders of magnitude smaller than the original image data. | 12-10-2009 |
20110310088 | PERSONALIZED NAVIGATION THROUGH VIRTUAL 3D ENVIRONMENTS - Personalized navigation technique embodiments are presented that generally involve providing personalized navigation through a virtual three-dimensional (3D) environment. In one general embodiment this is accomplished by inputting a representation of a virtual 3D environment that is to be navigated, along with a number of user specified navigation preferences, and outputting a customized navigation experience. This navigation experience is produced by first establishing a path through the virtual 3D environment, and then optionally controlling the behavior of a virtual camera which reveals the virtual 3D environment to the user as the user traverses the path. Both the path and the virtual camera behavior are personalized to a user based on the aforementioned navigation preferences. | 12-22-2011 |
