20110180575SNOW SPORT BAG - Certain embodiments of the invention disclosed herein include a bag to store and provide easy transport of a pair (or multiple pairs) of skis or a snowboard(s) along with poles, boots, helmets, goggles and other ski or snowboard gear. Such embodiments provide a quick, efficient, and compact system for carrying sporting gear. Bags disclosed herein can include a shell having back surface for facing a user, a front surface, two opposing sides, a bottom surface, at least one shoulder strap, and an upper end. The upper end defines an upper opening sized to receive a pair of skis and accompanying bindings in a lengthwise direction. The bag defines a bottom opening in the bottom surface sized to receive the pair of skis in a lengthwise direction. The backpack can include a collapsible sleeve configured to extend from the defined bottom opening. The bag can also include a releasable flap attached to the bottom surface of the bag member and configured to cover the defined bottom opening and be released from covering the defined bottom opening to contain the collapsible sleeve in a collapsed position within the bag. The centrally carried skis then provide a balanced and efficient means of carrying winter sports equipment.07-28-2011

20100139287MULTIPURPOSE COKE PLANT FOR SYNTHETIC FUEL PRODUCTION - A new approach to the production of coke. In this process multiple optimized value streams are produced from a coke facility located at mine mouth or locally at an existing plant. As part of the process, lower cost Indiana/Illinois Basin-type coals are blended with conventional metallurgical coals. The blending process is optimized to meet coke quality requirements and simultaneously to obtain a pyrolysis gas composition suitable for production of ancillary products including liquid transportation fuels, fertilizer, hydrogen, and electricity. By using lower cost Indiana/Illinois Basin coal it is possible to reduce net coal costs. This process provides a new direction and approach for the production of coke in the future that optimizes value over multiple product streams while reducing both business and technological risk.06-10-2010

20080225814Wireless access point service coverage area management - A Wireless Access Point (WAP) of a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructure includes a processor, a radio and a directional antenna. The radio supports communications with a first plurality of wireless terminals and listens to, but does not participate in transmissions of at least some of a second plurality of wireless terminals to collect non-participatory WAP data. Based upon the non-participatory WAP data, the processor creates WAP operational reports and provides the WAPs operational reports to the WLAN. The WLAN creates directions based thereon and directs the WAP to alter the gain pattern of the directional antenna.09-18-2008

20110087766APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING NETWORK RESOURCES - Apparatus and methods are provided for managing network resources. A central unified services and device management framework is operated to simultaneously manage various types of resources on behalf of multiple organizations. Within the framework, a common management layer provides services (e.g., account management, event logging) common to multiple different services and devices. Within a specific management layer, separate subsystems are implemented for different devices or types of devices. The device-specific subsystems invoke device-independent functional modules through primitives exposed by the common management layer. A given organization may establish tiered logical constructs to group resources deployed at different physical locations (e.g., cities, offices) or within different subdivisions of the organizations (e.g., subsidiaries, departments).04-14-2011
20110087882APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING NETWORK RESOURCES - Apparatus and methods are provided for protecting network resources, particularly in association with automatic provisioning of new client devices. A global PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) scheme is rooted at a globally available server. Roots of PKIs for individual organizations also reside at this server or another globally available resource. To enable access to an organization's network, one or more authenticators are deployed, which may be co-located with access points or other network components. After a client device enabler (CDE) and an authenticator perform mutual authentication with certificates issued within the global PKI, the CDE is used to provision a new client device for the organization. After the client is provisioned, it and an authenticator use certificates issued within the per-organization PKI to allow the client access to the network.04-14-2011

20110191602PROCESSOR WITH SELECTABLE LONGEVITY - A processor and method has at least one processor core for processing information and receives an operating voltage for powering circuitry of the processor. A selector receives a value indicative of a temperature within the processor and receives a value from a plurality of possible longevity values that each indicates a predetermined desired longevity of valid operation of the processor. An output provides an identifier that controls at least one of an operating voltage or an operating frequency of the processor, wherein the identifier provided is at least based on the value indicative of temperature and the predetermined desired longevity. A reliability storage device coupled to the selector stores the value from the plurality of possible longevity values that each indicates the predetermined desired longevity of valid operation of the processor.08-04-2011

20100287067Method of Distributing Video Content Via the Internet - A system and methods for transmitting, distributing and storing video content using a proprietary format to provide undisturbed playback among an unlimited number of various customer devices supporting copyright control provisions, wherein a database at a service provider is searched to locate a title of audio, video or audio/video content associated with the title. At least one link indexed to the title is presented for selection upon identification of the title in the database. The selection of the link is received at the service provider via the Internet, and a check is performed to determine whether a download of a data file incorporating the audio, video or audio/video content associated with the link indexed to the title has been requested. A determination is made as to whether permanent ownership of the requested audio, video or audio/video content associated with the title is desired and each segmented element is downloaded to a computer via the Internet for playback based on sequence codes in each segmented element.11-11-2010
