ALUMINUM-CONTAINING SUBSTRATE COMPRISING A MICROPOROUS LAYER OF AN ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE ZEOLITE, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF, AND USE THEREOF - An aluminum-containing substrate is described that comprises at least one superficially applied microporous layer of an aluminum phosphate zeolite (ALPO) as well as other layers. Said aluminum-containing substrate is characterized in that the microporous layer of the aluminum phosphate zeolite represents a primer coating on which a microporous or mesoporous secondary material is located which differs from the material of the primer coating. Said aluminum-containing substrate is produced in a particularly advantageous manner according to a method in which 1. an aluminum-containing substrate is hydrothermally treated in an aqueous suspension containing at least phosphorus as a network-forming element, and a microporous primer coating of an aluminum phosphate zeolite is formed on the substrate by means of an in situ crystallization process, especially the molar ratio between the network-forming aluminum that is deficient in the aqueous suspension and the sum of all network-forming elements in the aqueous suspension being less than 0.5 such that the aluminum required for compensating the deficiency is removed from the aluminum-containing substrate, and 2.; a microporous or mesoporous secondary material is formed on the microporous primer coating by subjecting the aluminum-containing substrate that comprises the microporous primer coating to another treatment in an aqueous suspension containing the network-forming elements required for forming the porous secondary material. The described aluminum-containing substrate is particularly suitable as a heat exchanger, as a catalytic reactor, or as a component in heat transformation technology with an anti-corrosive or anti-fouling effect. | 07-28-2011

CUTTING TOOL - A cutting tool includes a tool body having a first end engageable with a workpiece and a second end engageable with a spindle of a power tool. A blade extends outwardly from the first end of the tool body and including a cutting edge, the cutting edge being engageable with a workpiece to cut the workpiece. A bit, including a drive shaft and a cutting end extends along an axis of the tool body. The drive shaft extends axially outwardly beyond the first end of the tool body and terminates at the cutting end. The cutting end has a maximum cross-sectional width greater than a maximum cross-sectional width of the drive shaft, and an axial distance from the first end of the tool body to the cutting end is greater than a maximum cutting depth of the cutting tool. | 04-15-2010

ENHANCING RELIABILITY OF MULTICASTING AND BROADCASTING SERVICES (MBS) OVER BROAD BAND WIRELESS ACCESS (BWA) NETWORKS - A broad-band wireless access (BWA) network may support high bandwidth, which may allow video multicast and broadcast services (MBS) over the BWA networks. The BWA network may comprise a base station and mobile subscriber stations provisioned in each wireless cell. The base station may select feedback leaders, which includes a sub-set of the mobile subscriber stations. The base station may send a first request to the feedback leaders and receive a response to the first request that is to indicate whether a packet transmitted prior to sending the first request is to be retransmitted. The feedback leaders may provide a feedback on the first channel, while watching a second channel. Also, the feedback leaders may provide feedback on the first channel while watching the first channel itself. Such an approach may enhance the reliability of the MBS over BWA networks. | 06-18-2009

ANALOG/DIGITAL PARTITIONING OF CIRCUIT DESIGNS FOR SIMULATION - For increasing user control and insight into preparing a mixed-signal semiconductor design specification for simulation, there are provided methods responsive to commands that provide control over resolution of disciplines and partitioning of the design into analog and digital portions. In some aspects, the methods provide block-based assignment of disciplines, as well as design partitioning. In other aspects, the methods provide for resolving a discipline to apply in a block from among multiple possible disciplines. In some aspects, error flagging may be available for detecting disciplines different from what provided for assignment in a block. Assignments may be indicated based on instance, cell, terminal, or library names and may be specified with wild cards. In still other aspects, the methods may be embodied by instructions on computer readable media, and in systems comprising general and special purpose computer hardware that may communicate with various storage facilities and over various networks. | 12-30-2010

IDENTIFICATION OF CASING COLLARS WHILE DRILLING AND POST DRILLING USING LWD AND WIRELINE MEASUREMENTS - Systems and methods identify and/or detect one or more features of a well casing by utilizing one or more downhole measurements obtainable by a downhole component. The one or more features of the well casing are identifiable and/or detectable from the one or more measurements associated with one or more properties of the one or more features of the well casing. The one or more measurements for indentifying and/or detecting a presence and/or a location of the one or more features of the well casing include sonic measurements, nuclear measurements, gamma ray measurements, photoelectric measurements, resistivity measurements and/or combinations thereof. | 12-01-2011

Tool and method for enhanced human machine collaboration for rapid and accurate transcriptions - A system and methods for transcribing text from audio and video files including a set of transcription hosts and an automatic speech recognition system. ASR word-lattices are dynamically selected from either a text box or word-lattice graph wherein the most probable text sequences are presented to the transcriptionist. Secure transcriptions may be accomplished by segmenting a digital audio file into a set of audio slices for transcription by a plurality of transcriptionist. No one transcriptionist is aware of the final transcribed text, only small portions of transcribed text. Secure and high quality transcriptions may be accomplished by segmenting a digital audio file into a set of audio slices, sending them serially to a set of transcriptionists and updating the acoustic and language models at each step to improve the word-lattice accuracy. | 01-19-2012
