20110159764METHODS OF IMPARTING CONDUCTIVITY TO MATERIALS USED IN COMPOSITE ARTICLE FABRICATION & MATERIALS THEREOF - Embodiments of the invention are directed to metal- or metal alloy-coated sheet materials (hereinafter, “metal-coated sheet material”) including, but not limited to, fabrics and veils which have a metal content of between one (1) and fifty (50) grams per square meter (gsm). The metal-coated sheet materials may be used as-is or in conjunction with prepregs, adhesives or surfacing films to provide lightning strike protection (LSP) and/or bulk conductivity, among other benefits, to the resultant composite article. In one embodiment, the metal-coated sheet material is impregnated with a resin. According to embodiments of the invention, a metal is applied to one or two sides of the fabric or veil by a physical vapor deposition coating process. The resultant metal-coated fabric or veil may be used as a carrier in surfacing films to impart surface conductivity; may be used as a carrier in adhesives to form conductive adhesive-bonded joints; may be interleaved (one or more metal-coated veils) between layers of prepreg to impart surface and/or bulk conductivity as well as toughness; or may be used to fabricate composite articles.06-30-2011

20080263084Configuration Management Database and System - A configuration management database (CMDB) comprising a plurality of statements, where in the statements comprise a first item identifying a resource, a second item identifying an object, and a third item identifying a relationship between the resource and the object, and wherein the statements are made in a markup language.10-23-2008
20080270213Process risk estimation indication - An automatic process outputs a activity failure indicator indicating the likelihood of project failure, a delay indicator indicating the likelihood of project delay, a human resource shortage indicator indicating the likelihood of a lack of human resources and an infrastructure shortage indicator indicating the likelihood of a shortage of infrastructure resources.10-30-2008
20090187526Systems And Methods For Modeling Consequences Of Events - Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for decision making under uncertainty. A causality framework is provided to define relationships between an alternative (Ai) of a set of alternatives and at least one performance indicator of a set of performance indicators. A k-concurrent lottery (Li) associated with the alternative (Ai) is conducted, the alternative (Ai) having consequences over k ones of the set of performance indicators. The k-concurrent lottery (Li) is homogenized over the set of performance indicators if the k ones is less than a number of the set of performance indicators. An expected utility of the k-concurrent lottery (Li) for each one of the set of alternatives is computed. One alternative is selected from the set of alternatives, the selection occurring in accordance with a selection criteria based on the expected utility.07-23-2009
20100114621System And Methods For Modeling Consequences Of Events - Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for modeling consequences of events on performance indicators. A causality model is provided to define relationships between events and the consequences associated with each one of the events to modify a value of at least one of the performance indicators associated with each one of the events. An algorithm included in the causality model is executable to compute an impact of the consequences on the value. A causality model management system is provided to manage the causality model, including storing, execution of the algorithm, interfacing with other systems, and simulating what-if scenarios of the events and the performance indicators.05-06-2010

20100220913System and Method for Detection of Lesions in Three-Dimensional Digital Medical Image - A system and method for characterizing a point in a three-dimensional digital medical image includes determining third order derivatives of the three-dimensional digital medical image at one or more points in the three-dimensional digital medical image. At each of the one or more points, one or more invariant or semi-invariant features that characterize a local geometry at the point is determined using the third order derivatives of the three-dimensional digital medical image. The invariant or semi-invariant features are used for automatic detection of lesions, abnormalities, and other anatomical structures of interest in the three-dimensional digital medical image.09-02-2010

20110293157Medical Image Segmentation - A segmentation method comprises clustering spatial, intensity and volumetric shape index to automatically segment a medical lesion. The algorithm has the following steps: (1) calculating volumetric shape index (SI) for each voxel in the image; (2) combining the SI features with the intensity range and the spatial position (x, y, z) to form a 5-dimensional feature vector set; (3) grouping the 5-dimensional feature vector set into clusters; (4) employing a modified expectation-maximization algorithm (EM) considering not only spatial but also shape features on an intensity mode map from the clustering algorithm to merge the neighbouring regions or modes. The joint spatial-intensity-shape feature provides rich information for the segmentation of the anatomic structures of interest, such as lesions or tumours.12-01-2011

20110166204OLIGONUCLEOTIDES TARGETING HUMAN ENDOGENOUS RETROVIRUS 9 (ERV-9) LONG TERMINAL REPEAT (LTR) AND METHODS OF USE - Described herein are oligonucleotides that target the human endogenous retrovirus-9 (ERV-9) long terminal repeat (LTR). The ERV-9 LTR oligonucleotides specifically hybridize with either the coding strand or non-coding strand of ERV-9 LTR. It is disclosed herein that ERV-9 LTR oligonucleotides inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells, including breast cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, fibrosarcoma and myeloid cancer cells. Also described herein are methods of treating a subject diagnosed with cancer comprising administering to the subject an ERV-9 LTR oligonucleotide. In some examples, the methods further comprise administering a second therapeutic agent, such as an antisense compound or a chemotherapeutic agent.07-07-2011
