20080234146Proppant and Production Method Thereof - The invention relates to the oil-and-gas production industry and can be used for enhancement of the production of oilfield wells as it prevents the fracture from closing by pumping of propping granules (proppant) during the hydraulic fracturing of oil-producing formations. Higher stimulation of a reservoir through using hydraulic fracturing is provided with the proppant as particulate with spherical or elliptic form, made of ceramic, polymer, metal, or glass and having higher roughness than regular proppant, wherein the surface roughness is nonuniform and described by two criteria A and B, varying in the intervals: A=0.0085−0.85; B=0.001−1.0. The proppant manufacturing method comprising the preparation of raw material, mixing, granulation, drying, firing, wherein an additional stage of creation of surface roughness is added at the granulation stage and/or the firing stage.09-25-2008

20090043581Methods and apparatus relating to searching of spoken audio data - This invention relates to a method of searching spoken audio data for one or more search terms comprising performing a phonetic search of the audio data to identify likely matches to a search term and producing textual data corresponding to a portion of the spoken audio data including a likely match. An embodiment of the method comprises the steps of taking phonetic index data corresponding to the spoken audio data, searching the phonetic index data for likely matches to the search term, wherein when a likely match is detected a portion of the spoken audio data or phonetic index data is selected which includes the likely match and said selected portion of the spoken audio data or phonetic index data is processed using a large vocabulary speech recogniser. The large vocabulary speech recogniser may derive textual data which can be used for further processing or may be used to present a transcript to a user. The present invention therefore combines the benefit of phonetic searching of audio data with the advantages of large vocabulary speech recognition.02-12-2009

20080313962Metal Passivation - A method for passivating low-alloy steel surfaces in apparatus operating in the temperature range 350 to 580° C. and exposed to a carbon monoxide containing gas mixture comprises adding a passivating compound containing at least one phosphorus (P) atom to the gas mixture. The gas mixture is preferably a reformed gas and also described is a process for producing a synthesis gas wherein, prior to cooling a reformed gas mixture to a temperature between 350 and 580° C. in apparatus having low-alloy steel surfaces downstream of one or more reforming steps, a passivating compound containing at least one phosphorus (P) atom is combined with the gas mixture.12-25-2008

20110124749PROCESS FOR THE GENERATION OF A SYNTHESIS GAS - A process for the generation of a synthesis gas comprising: (a) forming a raw synthesis gas, (b) dividing the raw synthesis gas into first and second streams, (c) subjecting the first stream to the water gas shift reaction to form a shifted gas mixture, (d) cooling the second raw synthesis gas stream and shifted gas mixture to below the dew point to form a dry raw synthesis gas mixture, and a dry shifted gas mixture respectively, (e) feeding the dry raw synthesis gas mixture and a dry shifted gas mixture to a gas-washing unit operating by counter-current solvent flow, such that the solvent flowing through said unit contacts first with the dry raw gas mixture and then the dry shifted gas mixture, and (f) collecting from said gas-washing unit a synthesis gas having a stoichiometry ratio, R═(H05-26-2011
20110137089PROCESS FOR INCREASING HYDROGEN CONTENT OF SYNTHESIS GAS - A process for increasing the hydrogen content of a synthesis gas containing one or more sulphur compounds is described, comprising the steps of (i) heating the synthesis gas and (ii) passing at least part of the heated synthesis gas and steam through a reactor containing a sour shift catalyst, wherein the synthesis gas is heated by passing it through a plurality of tubes disposed within said catalyst in a direction co-current to the flow of said synthesis gas through the catalyst. The resulting synthesis gas may be passed to one or more additional reactors containing sour shift catalyst to maximise the yield of hydrogen production, or used for methanol production, for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of liquid hydrocarbons or for the production of synthetic natural gas.06-09-2011

20090191491Method of Creating an Image in a Photoresist Laminate - A process for creating an image in a dry-film resist laminate. The dry-film resist laminate comprises in order, a peelable top layer, a layer of dry-film resist, a clear or translucent coating layer, and a peelable bottom layer. The top layer is peeled from the laminate and the laminate is applied to a surface using heat and pressure. Thereafter, an image is created in the layer of dry-film resist and the resist is developed to remove uncured portions of the layer of photoresist along with the clear or translucent coating layer.07-30-2009

20100206055Monitoring an Immunoassay - A method of monitoring an immunoassay comprises determining the position of the flow edge of fluid across an immunoassay region. This allows, for example, early detection of possible errors in the test. For example the speed of the movement of the fluid flow edge may be determined from measurements of the position of the fluid flow edge at times throughout the test, and the determined speed may be compared with one or more thresholds to determine whether the test is proceeding correctly. A further method of monitoring an immunoassay comprising monitoring the variation with time of a reference zone of an immunoassay region. This can provide the user with early information as to whether the test is proceeding correctly. The above methods may also be used to provide methods to improve the run conditions of a test during its development. The method may be applied to a competitive assay.08-19-2010
