20120007721 | FAST BLOCK WRITE USING AN INDIRECT MEMORY POINTER - A fast block write command includes providing an RFID tag having a memory, and using a stored address pointer to point to a known address in the memory, wherein the stored address pointer points to a starting address at a known safe block in the memory. The method is performed without an intermediate buffer. The received data is written to the known safe block and a cyclic redundancy check is computed on the received data. If the cyclic redundancy check matches, the received data is retained and the stored address pointer is updated. If the cyclic redundancy check does not match, the stored address pointer is kept for a future write operation. Further block writes can be disallowed after an initial successful block write. | 01-12-2012 |

20090024058 | Device for Sampling Oral Fluid - A device for the collection of oral fluid from a subject's oral cavity may include a sample-collecting mouthpiece and a one-way valve. The mouthpiece may include a collecting chamber, introducible into the oral cavity of the subject for collecting oral fluid, and a resiliently deformable wall section defining at least part of the collecting chamber such that compression of the resiliently deformable wall forcibly expels a collected fluid from the collecting chamber via a collecting chamber outlet. The one-way valve may be in fluid communication with the collecting chamber outlet and may allow fluid to be displaced from the device following compression of the resiliently deformable wall but prevents ambient air flowing back through the valve into the device. | 01-22-2009 |

20090080596 | RADIOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT - The invention concerns radiographic equipment for forming an image of an interior of an object. The equipment comprises a source of X-ray or gamma-ray radiation having two or more energies and operable to irradiate an object to be scanned and a radiation source producing neutrons operable to irradiate the object. The equipment also comprises a radiation detector array having a plurality of pixels, each sensitive to and arranged with respect to the X-ray or gamma-ray radiation source and the neutron producing radiation source and operable to measure the intensity of each type of radiation transmitted through the object; means to process the intensity of each type of radiation, to determine the attenuation of each type of radiation having passed through the object, and to form an image indicative of the shape and composition of the object's interior. | 03-26-2009 |

20110028278 | Dynamic Rowing Machine - Featured is a rowing simulation machine including a single base having a first pair of spaced apart rails; a carriage having a second pair of spaced apart rails and engaged with the first pair of rails and moveable therealong in a generally horizontal translation; a seat engaged with the second pair of rails and moveable therealong in a generally horizontal translation. Also included is an energy dissipating unit fixed to the carriage. The energy dissipating unit includes a frame for supporting a flywheel, the flywheel being rotatably mounted on a flywheel shaft; a handle; a drive device connected to the handle, for converting a translation of the handle into a flywheel rotation; and a take up device for rewinding and maintaining a predetermined tension on the drive device. The carriage includes a foot rest assembly disposed therein between the second pair of spaced apart rails. | 02-03-2011 |

20090124341 | GAMING MACHINE WITH GAMBLE OPTION - A gaming machine provides a plurality of game levels, each level providing a plurality of symbols selectable by the player. A value associated with a selected symbol is used to calculate a winning value. The player may choose either the winning value or else play the next level. | 05-14-2009 |
20090156298 | METHOD OF DETERMINING A BET AMOUNT AND A GAMING SYSTEM - Systems and methods for determining a bet amount in a gaming system comprises determining a number of play combinations to be played by a player, receiving a total bet amount from the player, and determining a bet per play combination amount from the determined number of play combinations and the received total bet amount. | 06-18-2009 |
20100076900 | TRANSACTION METHOD AND A METHOD OF CONTROLLING USE OF A GAME - In an example, a gaming device includes a license module, the license module arranged to determine, prior to allowing execution of program code of a game having an associated license, whether the license is a fixed term license or a continual term license, and, if the license is a fixed term license, check that the license is current before allowing the program code to execute. In an example, a method of controlling use of a game by a gaming device, the game having an associated license, includes determining prior to allowing the program code of the game to execute whether the license is a fixed term license or a continual term license, and, if the license is a fixed term license, checking whether the license is current before allowing the program code to execute. | 03-25-2010 |

20140258172 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THE DISCOVERY AND DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS ENDEAVOURS - A key ingredient in the design and development of enterprise software systems is a precise description of the business endeavour. In practice the engineering designs for corporate systems are surprisingly poorly articulated due to the difficulty organisations face in clearly defining their business needs in a structured and unambiguous manner. One problem is that the notations used in business process specifications are technical in nature, notoriously complex and not particularly intelligible to business stakeholders. Further, since the business environment is highly dynamic, static documentation is quickly out-of-date and rarely reusable beyond the lifespan of any particular project. There is a constant disconnect between the fluid, evolving nature of business strategies and the brittle, rigid nature of process automation. As a consequence, business stakeholders have little direct control over the structure, behaviour and governance of information systems, which is a major contributing factor in the pervasive issue of system inflexibility and adaptability. This invention provides a method and corresponding system design for addressing these limitations by articulating a business endeavour in a comprehensive, structured conceptual model that is independent of underlying technology and responsive to the dynamics of business strategy. | 09-11-2014 |
