20100145161 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOTE AND MOBILE PATIENT MONITORING SERVICE USING HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS ACCESS NETWORKS - A system and method for remote and mobile patient monitoring service is provided using heterogeneous wireless access in which each patient is equipped with a remote monitoring device with a heterogeneous wireless transceiver. This can be a value-added service provided by a Healthcare service provider (i.e., a hospital or healthcare center) for which the Healthcare service provider can pay to the wireless network service provider (i.e., a network operator). With heterogeneous wireless access, a remote/mobile patient can use different types of wireless technologies (e.g., WiMAX-based WMAN and WiFi-based WLAN technologies) to transfer monitored bio-signal data to the healthcare center. The monitoring device can buffer and then transmit the bio-signal data to the healthcare center through the heterogeneous radio access network. In this device, there can be two buffers used to store bio-signal data, each with different priority. The scheduler in this device can make an optimal decision on data transmission. Also, a method is provided to minimize the cost of network connections for remote/mobile patient monitoring. | 06-10-2010 |

20110158206 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ALLOCATION GUARANTEED TIME SLOTS FOR EFFICIENT TRANSMISSION OF TIME-CRITICAL DATA IN IEEE 802.15.4 WIRELESS PERSONAL AREA NETWORKS - A guaranteed time slot allocation scheme is provided for the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for use in wireless personal area networks having sensor devices to overcome bandwidth under-utilization for time-critical or delay-sensitive data transmissions. A fractional knapsack problem is formulated to obtain optimal guaranteed time slot allocation with which a minimum bandwidth requirement is guaranteed for the sensor devices. | 06-30-2011 |

20100154581 | POSITIVE RELEASE CRASH PEDAL MECHANISM - Provided herein is a pedal assembly for a vehicle with a push rod releasably connected to a pedal arm. The push rod is connected to the pedal arm via a pivoting reaction mount that is capable of rotating from a first position to a second position during vehicle collision. Upon rotation to the second position, the push rod is disconnected from the pedal arm, thereby reducing injury to the driver. The pivoting reaction mount may include a rotatable lever. An actuation mechanism, such as a reaction bracket, is mounted to a vehicle structure adjacent the push rod, and may actuate rotation of the pivoting reaction mount. | 06-24-2010 |

20140260766 | SAFETY RELEASE SYSTEM FOR PEDALS - Provided herein is a pedal assembly for a vehicle with an intermediate link releasably connected to an actuation link of a push rod. The push rod is connected to a pedal arm via the actuation link and the intermediate link. The intermediate link has two parallel links that are capable of movement from a first position to a second position during vehicle collision using a release lever. Upon rotation to its second position, the release lever disconnects and forces the parallel links of the intermediate link away from each other, thus disconnecting the push rod and pedal arm. Energy is prevented from being transmitted to the driver's foot, thereby reducing injury to the driver. An actuation mechanism, such as a reaction bracket, is mounted to a vehicle structure adjacent the release lever, and may actuate rotation of the lever. | 09-18-2014 |
