20110278080 | Drive system for a motor vehicle and method therefor - An apparatus for generating an electric current to drive a vehicle has at least one electric drive motor coupled to each rear wheel of the vehicle. The electric motors are used to drive each rear wheel. A motor controller is coupled to each electric motor. Kinetic energy converting generators power the electric drive motor. Optionally, a flywheel is coupled to an electrical generator which is electrically coupled to the motor controller. Also optionally, at least one kinetic energy converting generator may be coupled to at least one of the vehicle wheel in order to convert kinetic energy of the vehicle into electrical energy to power the drive motor, via the motor controller. | 11-17-2011 |
20150060172 | DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE - A motor vehicle drive system utilizing a flywheel for storing recaptured kinetic energy from a moving vehicle is described. Alternators mounted to the drive train generate electrical power from the passively spinning wheels of a moving vehicle. This power may be used to rotate a flywheel. Energy from the continuously spinning flywheel is used or stored for later use to charge batteries which provide power to the drive wheels of the vehicle. The disclosed drive system can be mounted in an all-electric or gasoline-electric hybrid motor vehicle and provides additional power to an electric drive motor of the vehicle. | 03-05-2015 |

20150180501 | COMPLEMENTARY SWITCHES IN CURRENT SWITCHING DIGITAL TO ANALOG CONVERTERS - The present disclosure provides embodiments of an improved current steering switching element for use in a digital to analog (DAC) converter. Typically, each current steering switching element in the DAC converter provides a varying set of currents for converting a digital input signal. Generally, the switches and drivers in the current steering switching elements are scaled down proportionally to the current being provided by the current steering switching element according to a ratio as less and less current is being driven by the switching element in order to overcome timing errors. However, device sizes are limited by the production process. When a switch is not scaled proportionally to the current, settling timing errors are present and affects the performance of the DAC. The improved current steering switching element alleviates this issue of timing errors by replacing the single switch with two complementary current steering switches. | 06-25-2015 |

20110077968 | GRAPHICALLY REPRESENTING PHYSIOLOGY COMPONENTS OF AN ACUTE PHYSIOLOGICAL SCORE (APS) - Systems and methods for rendering a graphical object that visually represents those physiological components that account for a patient's acute physiology are provided. The method includes performing an acute physiology score (APS) calculation using diagnostic parameters to realize points associated therewith. The diagnostic parameters individually provide a measure of the patient's complete acute physiology. These points are combined to generate body-system scores that are values associated with each of the physiological components, respectively. Typically, the physiological components are predefined in number and each correspond with a respective body system. The method further includes the step of generating a graphical object that visually represents the body-system scores in an intuitive format, such as a pie graph. The graphical object is then rendered on a display device, and is presented in a bed gadget associated with a particular patient staying in the ICU. | 03-31-2011 |
