20150066479 | CONVERSATIONAL AGENT - A method, system, and computer program product provide a conversation agent to process natural language queries expressed by a user and perform commands according to the derived intention of the user. A natural language processing (NLP) engine derives intent using conditional random fields to identify a domain and at least one task embodied in the query. The NLP may further identify one or more subdomains, and one or more entities related to the identified command. A template system creates a data structure for information relevant to the derived intent and passes a template to a services manager for interfacing with one or more services capable of accomplishing the task. A dialogue manager may elicit more entities from the user if required by the services manager and otherwise engage in conversation with the user. In one embodiment, the conversational agent allows a user to engage in multiple conversations simultaneously. | 03-05-2015 |

20140334576 | DIGITAL RADIO RECEIVER SYSTEM AND METHOD - Provided is a digital radio receiver system and method for switching from receiving a first broadcast service to an alternative broadcast service. Also provided is a digital radio receiver system and method for scanning for broadcast services in a broadcast signal to generate an alternative broadcast service list for use in controlling the digital radio receiver system. A digital radio receiver utilises spectrum awareness data, which includes data defining one or more frequencies at which broadcast services may be receivable, in order to faster selection of an alternative broadcast service from an alternative broadcast service list containing data relating to alternative broadcast services that are linked by a relationship to other broadcast services. By using the spectrum awareness data, only entries that are considered valid (i.e. entries that are determined to be alternative services that the receiver may receive) are retrieved from the alternative broadcast service list, which reduces the time taken for a receiver to switch to an alternative broadcast service from an initially received broadcast service. | 11-13-2014 |
20140334578 | DIGITAL RADIO RECEIVER SYSTEM AND METHOD - Provided is a method of scanning for broadcast services in a broadcast signal to generate a broadcast service list for use with a digital radio receiver system, and the digital radio receiver system used for scanning for broadcast services to generate a broadcast service list. The system utilises spectrum awareness data, which includes data defining one or more frequencies at which broadcast services may be receivable, in order to reduce the number of frequencies to scan such that the overall scan time may be reduced. The data in the spectrum awareness data is a filtered subset of the plurality of frequencies at which the broadcast services may be received, which allows the controller of a digital radio receiver to tune a tuner to only the frequencies that are likely to contain a broadcast service when generating or updating a broadcast service list. | 11-13-2014 |
