20120066531 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADAPTIVE POWER CONTROL IN A MULTI-LANE COMMUNICATION CHANNEL - An apparatus consisting of a digital communication channel comprised of a multiplicity of lanes where data is striped across the lanes in a predefined sequence. Each lane has the ability to be powered down or powered up in response to the amount of data being held in a transmit buffer at one end of the communication channel. The method consists of monitoring the amount of data being held in the transmit buffer; making the decision of how many lanes are required based on the amount of data; sending signals to cause the required number of lanes to be powered down or powered up; and performing the required power down or power up action at the particular transmitter and receiver. The fill level of the transmit buffer is continually monitored and the required number of active lanes and the striping sequence is calculated and updated as required as a function of the fill level, where a larger amount of data waiting to be transmitted will result in a greater number of lanes being powered up and a smaller amount of data waiting to be transmitted will result in a lesser number of lanes being powered up. | 03-15-2012 |

20150175220 | Vehicle bodywork - A laser-cut and spot-welded tubular frame chassis typically has an accuracy of ±1.5 mm. To allow positioning of exterior body panels to an accuracy of +0.2 mm we propose that the vehicle comprise one or more integration panels, lying between the tubular framework and the exterior body panels. These can be made of a lightweight material, and can be made to be structural or non-structural depending on the intended use and location of the panel. It can also be attached adhesively to the framework at an early stage of manufacture. A jig with a suitable datum point can hold the integration panels while the adhesive sets, or a robotic arm or the like can hold the panel in the correct position. An adhesive thickness of about 3 mm will allow chassis tolerances of ±1.5 mm in any direction to be accommodated. The exterior body panels can then be attached to the integration panels in any preferred manner, such as adhesives, bolts, clips or the like. This attachment is preferably non-adhesive, and can therefore be done at a late stage in manufacture after much of the interior work has been done. The integration panel will also provide a convenient point for providing fittings and fixings for ancillaries within the vehicle such as brake lines, wiring, NVH panels and the like. A moulded integration panel can be formed with appropriate fitting and fixings as necessary. This will also reduce the number of brackets and the like which need to be welded to the framework, reducing the energy cost of the vehicle manufacturing process. | 06-25-2015 |

20080275807 | Method and System for Offset Matching - The trading of interest rate swaps or other interest rate derivatives gives rise to mismatch exposure. This can be offset by a series of FRA trades. Rather than conducting a series of exposure neutral trades, FRAs can be bought or sold for the entire amount of a trader's reset exposure. To hedge the offset trades, a series of IMM FRA trades are conducted. The relative size of the IMM contracts will be determined by the distance in time from the IMM quarterly contract settlement date. A system is disclosed for performing offset trades and IMM hedges. The embodiments allow for non-neutral trading and subsequent heging brings trading back to a neutral position. | 11-06-2008 |

20090106330 | COMMITMENT CHAINS FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION BETWEEN DISCONNECTED DATA SHARING APPLICATIONS - A sequence of processing transactions operating on a cached data set, which depend on each other because they operate on the same items of data from the data set. The transactions are saved until the master copy of the data becomes available. The transactions are played back against the master copy until one of the played back transactions fails because another transaction which operated on the same items of data but against a separate cached copy and originating from another application, was successfully played back on the master copy at an earlier time. At this point, all subsequent transactions which depended on the failing transaction are rolled back on the cached copy (with appropriate failure reports generated) and activity resumes from there. “Chained” (optimistic) transactions can therefore be applied to cached data and can be allowed to progress by recording their dependencies so they can be undone when required. | 04-23-2009 |
