20090088648 | Methods and devices for image-guided manipulation or sensing or anatomic structures - Forward-looking ultrasound transducers are positioned at the tip of a transseptal catheter to facilitate transseptal puncture and interventions within the left atrium, pulmonary veins and mitral valve. Catheter devices and systems are guided by forward-looking ultrasound or optical coherence tomography imaging for penetrating from one location within a mammalian patient's body to another location, and/or performing diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. A penetrator, diagnostic, or interventional device (eg. probe, biopsy apparatus, electrode, needle) is positioned at the catheter tip and is advanceable from the catheter to a target location outside of the lumen in which the catheter is positioned. The imaging probe uses forward-looking ultrasound or optical coherence tomography that allows one to locate both the target and the medical device. The operator may then adjust the position and/or rotational orientation of the catheter such that when the medical device is subsequently advanced it will either enter or be deployed at the target location. | 04-02-2009 |
20140107681 | Guide-Wire Dilation Device for Facilitation of Lesion Crossing - Devices and methods are disclosed for widening a channel in a treatment site, the channel containing a guide-wire. The channel is widened by advancing an elongated dilation device, which is configured to fit tightly over the guide-wire at the distal tip of the dilation device and to provide a distal dilating surface, over the guide-wire and at least partially through the treatment site. The dilation device comprises a tubular metallic shaft, typically a metal inner tube, for providing sufficient stiffness and column strength for the dilator to be advanced at least partially through the channel, and a flexible sleeve providing a tapered distal tip. The distal end of the dilator defines a leading surface that is shaped to force away portions of a lesion surrounding the guide-wire away from the guide-wire as the distal end is advanced over the guide-wire through the lesion, whereby a channel through the lesion is at least partially dilated. | 04-17-2014 |

By combining both components, which can be respectively characterized by four different structural units, it is possible to obtain mixture compositions which can, more particularly, be used as dispersing agents for organic and/or inorganic pigments and fillers, in addition to known applications in the field of structural chemistry. In the field of structural chemistry, the mixture compositions are suitable for use on account of the dispersing properties thereof, particularly in ceramic systems and in water-based painting and coating systems. Independently of the dispersing effect thereof, the described mixture compositions are also excellent solvents, wherein they can be used more particularly as casein substitutes, even in self-leveling gap-filling materials and troweling compounds by virtue of the stabilizing effect thereof. The inventive mixture composition combines known positive properties of components I and II and can be used in new fields of application, even in the non-structural chemistry field. | 09-08-2011 |
