20120194151 | STANDBY CURRENT REDUCTION THROUGH A SWITCHING ARRANGEMENT WITH MULTIPLE REGULATORS - Consistent with an example embodiment, there is a power regulator arrangement with variable current capacity providing power from a power supply to a load having variable demand. As a load, a high-performance microprocessor has several modes of operation. At the highest speed setting, it demands a lot of current. At slower clock speeds and during state retention, the processor has a very low current consumption. Using a single regulator, the current efficiency may be very low during long standby periods. To increase the efficiency even at lower load currents, a scheme is based on parallel operation of multiple regulators having different load ranges, for example, a “low, “medium,” and “high” range regulators. Having knowledge of the load current profile, the regulators can be adjusted such that the peak of the efficiency curve matches the load profile of the regulator. The efficiency of the power regulator arrangement is enhanced throughout the range of power demanded by the load. | 08-02-2012 |
20120256664 | POWER-ON-RESET CIRCUIT WITH LOW POWER CONSUMPTION - Methods, devices and circuits are provided for power-on-reset circuits with low static power consumption. One such circuit includes a detector that draws current from a supply voltage. The detector detects that the supply voltage has exceeded a trip-point voltage level and then disables current draw from the detector. The detector responds to an enable signal by enabling current draw from the detector. A pulse generator generates a reset signal in response the supply voltage transitioning from a voltage below the trip point voltage level to above the trip point voltage level. A monitor detects that the supply voltage has dropped and provides, in response thereto, the enable signal to the detector to enable current draw from the portion of the detector. | 10-11-2012 |

The reference voltage circuit generates a reference voltage using first and second base-emitter pairs. The reference voltage circuit sums the voltage across the first base-emitter pair with a difference voltage. During a first time period, the difference voltage is the voltage across the first base-emitter pair minus the voltage across the second base-emitter pair, and during a second time period, the difference voltage is the voltage across the second base-emitter pair minus the voltage across the first base-emitter pair. | 02-27-2014 |

20110121484 | Method of producing a color enhanced surface seeded exposed aggregate concrete - An improved method is provided for producing a color enhanced surface seeded exposed aggregate concrete. The method includes preparing a subgrade or framework for receipt of a concrete mixture. Fill sand and/or rebar may be utilized for structural strength. A concrete mixture is poured over the subgrade. The surface of the concrete is floated or screeded to an appropriate slope. A color hardener is applied to the concrete surface to create a colorized concrete surface. The color hardener is troweled to provide uniformity of color. An aggregate is broadcast into the colorized concrete surface and than troweled to fully embed the aggregate in place. The aggregate is then exposed utilizing a chemical retardant or mechanical apparatus. Thereafter, preferably the color enhanced surface seeded exposed aggregate surface is washed and sealed. | 05-26-2011 |
20120121329 | Alkali silica reactivity (ASR) resistant aggregate concrete - Improved methods are provided for producing exposed aggregate concrete resistant to alkali silica reactivity. A concrete mixture is poured over a subgrade into a formwork. In a first embodiment, the concrete mixture includes a combination of lithium nitrate solution and concrete. In an alternative embodiment, the concrete mixture is a combination of concrete, aggregate and a lithium nitrate. Once the concrete mixture has been poured, the upper surface is floated or screed. Where aggregate has not been integrally mixed into the concrete mixture, the aggregate is surface seeded by broadcasting the aggregate upon the ASR resistant concrete surface.
