20100298025 | Waterproof cell phone - The present invention provides a Waterproof Cell Phone which addresses the problem of waterproofing a cell phone by providing a seamless, flexible, transparent, waterproof covering for the phone, such that the phone operates as a normal cell phone, yet be impenetrable to moisture, even to water immersion. Cell phones, typically present three avenues by which water can get in and damage them. First, the earpiece or receiver of the phone contains a speaker; second, the mouthpiece contains a microphone; and third, the recharging socket presents another passage from the exterior of the phone to the electronic interior. Covering these three components is crucial to waterproofing the phone. In the case of the recharging receptacle, a snap-cover hatch will protect the phone, and the user simply snaps the cover off in order to plug in the adapter and recharge the phone. In the case of the earpiece speaker and mouthpiece microphone, as well as the keyboard and function buttons, a form-fitting, molded, flexible, transparent plastic film fully encloses and encases the phone, yet allows the passage of sound waves necessary for phone function. | 11-25-2010 |

20130137130 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONVERTING PRECURSOR CELLS INTO INTESTINAL TISSUES THROUGH DIRECTED DIFFERENTIATION - The generation of complex organ tissues from human embryonic and pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) remains a major challenge for translational studies. It is shown that PSCs can be directed to differentiate into intestinal tissue in vitro by modulating the combinatorial activities of several signaling pathways in a step-wise fashion, effectively recapitulating in vivo fetal intestinal al development. The resulting intestinal “organoids” were three-dimensional structures consisting of a polarized, columnar epithelium surrounded by mesenchyme that included a smooth muscle-like layer. The epithelium was patterned into crypt-like SOX9-positive proliferative zones and villus-like structures with all of the major functional cell types of the intestine. The culture system is used to demonstrate that expression of NEUROG3, a pro-endocrine transcription factor mutated in enteric anendocrinosis is sufficient to promote differentiation towards the enteroendocrine cell lineage. In conclusion, PSC-derived human intestinal tissue should allow for unprecedented studies of human intestinal development, homeostasis and disease. | 05-30-2013 |

Error conditions, status information, queries, and details about a particular step or group of steps may be displayed inline with the steps in a task detail portion of the user interface. The task detail portion may be collapsible and expandable by the user. Progress and completion indicators may be updated for each step, groups of steps, and the overall sequence. In a typical use, a software installation sequence may comprise installation steps from multiple software components. The user interface may illustrate the status of individual tasks, groups of task, and the overall sequence as the tasks are performed, and enable errors to be resolved by displaying queries and other information inline with the steps. | 03-04-2010 |

20100158495 | AUTOFOCUS ASSIST LIGHTING USED FOR RANGEFINDING IN VERY LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS - Autofocus (AF) assist lighting can be useful as a camera rangefinder in low light conditions. When ambient light conditions are inadequate for determining camera-to-subject distance using through-the-lens autofocus (TTL-AF) procedures, the AF assist light is used to attempt to raise the light level enough that the camera-to-subject distance can be determined using TTL-AF. If a camera-to-subject distance is not determined when the AF assist light is used, a camera-to-subject distance based on tabulated values is determined using an empirical model of AF assist luminance increment versus distance. If a camera-to-subject distance can be determined using TTL-AF when the AF assist light is used, but the lighting conditions are inadequate, the camera-to-subject distance used for capturing an image is a weighted combination of the TTL-AF camera-to-subject distance and a camera-to-subject distance based on a set of tabulated values determined using an empircal model of AP assist luminance increment versus distance. | 06-24-2010 |

After pressurizing the third chamber causing fluid to flow into and leave a fourth chamber, the third chamber depressurizes due to downward movement of a plunger. Upon depressurization with a solenoid coil energized, second valve member floats and then moves against a valve seat. 20140161631 | DIRECT INJECTION PUMP CONTROL STRATEGY FOR NOISE REDUCTION - A pump may have a first chamber and a solenoid coil to control movement of a first valve member. A second chamber may have a second valve member to control fluid moving into a third chamber. A first fluid passageway may link the first and second chambers, a second passageway may link second and third chambers and a third passageway may link third and fourth chambers. After pressurizing the third chamber causing fluid to flow into and leave a fourth chamber, the third chamber depressurizes due to downward movement of a plunger. Upon depressurization with a solenoid coil energized, second valve member floats and then moves against a valve seat. While the second valve member is moving toward the valve seat, the solenoid coil is de-energized causing the first valve member to move and strike the second valve member when the second valve member is moving at maximum velocity. | 06-12-2014 |

20130050707 | Optical dynamic non-locality induction bit - A quantum dynamical non-locality device is provided for establishing a photon traveling along a path in a binary state. The device includes twin Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), a shutter and a detector. The twin MZI includes first and second right-isosceles triangle prisms, corresponding first and second trombone mirrors, and corresponding first and second spacers. The prisms join at a beam-splitter interface. The mirrors reflect the photon by an offset substantially perpendicular to photon's travel direction. The spacers are respectively disposed between their respective prisms and mirrors to produce corresponding spatial gaps. The path through the prisms includes traversing spacers and gaps. The detector detects a quantum state of the photon after passing the prisms and the mirrors. The shutter switches to one of disposed within and removed therefrom the first gap. The shutter shifts said quantum state of the photon. | 02-28-2013 |
20130155411 | Signal Amplifier by Triple Mach-Zehnder Interferometers - A signal amplifier is provided via a triple Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) apparatus for determining intensity distribution at either a first port or a second port by a photon from a source. The first and second ports correspond to respective first and second directions. The MZI apparatus includes four beam-splitters disposed co-linearly in parallel between the source and the ports, six parallel mirrors, and first and second path projectors. Three of these mirrors are displaced along the first direction from the beam-splitters, while the remaining mirrors are displaced along the second direction. 20090146418 | CONNECTION WITH TAIL PIECE FOR A PRESS-FITTING - An adapter integrates a tail piece and connection for coupling to plumbing fittings utilizing a union nut or flange and provides a press-fit connection to the tail piece for installation in the system. The method of manufacturing the adapter comprises the steps of forming a flange on a section of conduit; placing a threaded union nut or mounting flange over the flange fitting; roll-forming an internal, concave annular recess into the section of conduit extending from the nut and inserting an O-ring into the recess for completing the adapter. The adapter can then be sealably attached to a plumbing fitting, such as a valve or the like, utilizing a conventional flat gasket between the flange of the adapter and the plumbing fitting. The installation is completed by inserting a conduit into the adapter to clear the O-ring and crimping the bead formed by the recess to complete the sealed connection. | 06-11-2009 |
