20090221240 | LOW POWER DEVICE ACTIVATED BY AN EXTERNAL NEAR-FIELD READER - Method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments improve power saving in mobile devices. A mobile device includes a controller with a central processing unit and a programmed memory. In its unused state, the controller maintains a sleep mode with the central processing unit off and peripherals off, such as for a flat screen display. The mobile device also includes a passive near-field transponder with an EEPROM storage device. The near-field transponder is activated by a continuous radio frequency signal from a proximate near-field reader. The near-field transponder can receive data from the near-field reader, which the transponder can write into the EEPROM. The mobile device also includes an activation coil energized by the continuous radio frequency signal from the proximate near-field reader and signals the controller when so energized. When the activation coil is energized by the continuous radio frequency signal from the proximate near-field reader, it energizes the controller, turning it on. The controller then reads the received data from the transponder's EEPROM and checks the validity of the received data to be sure that it is not the result of a spurious signal received by the near-field transponder. If the received data is determined to be valid, then the energized controller energizes the peripherals and the CPU and transfers the received data to the CPU. When the activation coil is no longer energized by a proximate near-field reader, the controller then returns to the sleep mode with the central processing unit off. In this manner, power saving in mobile devices is improved. | 09-03-2009 |

The color temperature tuning method includes the steps of: matching an input color temperature signal with a color temperature value in the color temperature lookup table, and extracting a current signal corresponding to the color temperature value matching with the input color temperature signal from the color temperature lookup table; and controlling a light emitting device to emit light according to the current signal. According to embodiments of the present invention, intermediate calculation process is omitted and time for tuning the color temperature is shorten. Currents flowing through the blue and green light emitting elements are controlled to emit lights to excite red fluorescent powder, so that the LED emits lights having various color temperatures, and tuning accuracy of the color temperature and user experience are improved. | 10-02-2014 |

The computer readable program code is configured to collect a speech recognition vocabulary set that corresponds to content visible on the display such that at least one vocabulary word in the speech recognition vocabulary set is the same as a word presented on the display, designate a segment of the content to be excerpted based on the speech input, and create a link to a source of the excerpted content and display the link with the excerpted content. | 12-11-2014 |
20140369281 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPORTING AND CANCELLING CROSS-SUBFRAME CO-CHANNEL INTERFERENCE - Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for cancelling cross-subframe co-channel interference (CCI), the method comprising receiving a channel quality indicator (CQI) of a cross-subframe from a user equipment (UE), the cross-subframe is a downlink subframe that is interfered by an uplink subframe in a neighboring cell; determining if the UE should be scheduled during cross-subframes by comparing the CQI with an adaptive threshold; and scheduling the UE during the cross-subframes if the UE is determined to be scheduled. By means of determining the resources scheduling based on an adaptive threshold, CCI may be cancelled and the overall resource usage will be increased according to the present invention. Furthermore, the adaptive threshold scheme can be easily implemented in practice. | 12-18-2014 |
