20080228428 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE NON-DESTRUCTIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE QUANTITATIVE SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF COMPONENTS OF A MEDICAL DEVICE - A method and system for the non-destructive analysis of medical devices uses a confocal Raman microscope and other non-destructive analytical tools to assess the spatial distribution of components of an object such as the distribution of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) within a polymer matrix. In a preferred embodiment, confocal Raman spectroscopy was used to differentiate each component found in the sirolimus-eluting coronary stent. The unique spectral features identified for each component were then used to develop three separate calibration curves to describe the solid phase distribution found on drug-polymer coated stents. The calibration curves were obtained by analyzing confocal Raman spectral depth profiles from a set of 16 unique formulations of drug-polymer coatings sprayed onto stents and planar substrates. | 09-18-2008 |

20080227982 | SOLVENT FREE AMORPHOUS RAPAMYCIN - An improved process for coating implantable medical devices utilizes a number of techniques for improving the stability of therapeutic agents contained within the coating. The stability of the therapeutic agents may be improved by creating substantially solvent-free, amorphous forms of the therapeutic agents. | 09-18-2008 |
20090049064 | DATA AND APPLICATION MODEL FOR CONFIGURABLE TRACKING AND REPORTING SYSTEM - A software application, which allows the addition, modification and deletion of database fields dynamically, may be utilized without having to modify the database structure, application code, or user interface elements. Essentially, additional attributes may be added, subtracted or changed by users without the assistance of a database administrator. In addition to being more efficient, the application also dynamically conforms to the needs of the users and the requirements of the project for which the data is being captured. As additional project needs are defined, the structure of the database can grow and contract dynamically in real time. | 02-19-2009 |
